Chapter 4: Close calls & Promises

Before the scream was heard...

Lucy's POV:
That mean old Natsu not forgiving me I said I was sorry.
"I'll just play by myself who needs him anyways!"
As I'm walking past some bushes a shadow flies past me in a flash to reveal a baby squirrel.
"Aww... So cute!"
"Hello little squirrel"
I just want to pet it, squeeze it, cuddle it, love it and name him George.
"I'm going to catch you little squirrel" "I'm sure my mommy will let me keep it."
I tiptoe towards the squirrel until I stepped on a twig which startled the squirrel.
"No don't run away George!"
I chase after my soon to be pet.

3rd POV:
Lucy kept chasing "George" around the garden not realizing she was now chasing him up a tree. The squirrel leaps to the highest branch as Lucy tries to reach for him. The squirrel bites Lucy's finger and jumps down.
"George why'd you bite me?!" She whined while looking at her now bleeding finger. Lucy soon realizes that she was in a tree.
"Huh?!"
"How'd I get all the way up here?!"
"Wwwwaaaaahhhhh!!!!"
"Somebody help!"
"I'm scared of heights!"
Suddenly, the branch she was sitting on started to crack until it broke causing Lucy to fall as she let's out a scream.
"Luce!"
Is the last thing she hears before she blacks out.

Natsu's POV:
I heard a scream as I was getting ready to head back inside.
"That was Luce!"
I run to the direction of Luce's screams and I see her falling from the tree.
"Luce!" I yelled as I caught her before she could hit the ground.
I cradled her in my arms as tears began to fall from my eyes.
"Luce I-I'm so sorry I left you all alone just because of that stupid fight."
"Na-natsu?"
"Luce?"
I look down to see those beautiful chocolate eyes looking up at me.
"Luce you're okay!"
I hug her and she hugs me back. I pull away from the hug and look at her sternly
"Luce what in the world were you thinking being up in that tree knowing you're afraid of heights!!!"
I screamed at her she buries her face in my shirt and starts crying.
"Luce I-I'm sorry I didn't mean to scream at you"
"I-I was just scared when I saw you falling from that tree you could have been seriously hurt or worse"
"When I saw you falling from that tree my heart just stopped I don't know what I would do if something happened to you I care about you alot!"
"Na-Natsu you mean that?"
"You don't hate me?"
"No Luce I could never hate you and I'm sorry about that stupid fight"
"I'm (sniff) sorry too Natsu"
"Let's promise to never fight again Luce what do you say?"
"Yeah I agree I don't like it when we fight Natsu!"
I kiss her forehead and wipe her tears away with my thumb.
Then, I carry her inside to see if she has any wounds.

Natsu- Yay! Luce and I made up!
Lucy- (sniff) that was beautiful author chan

Happy- Aye sir!
Lucy- Of course they will why wouldn't they?!
Natsu- Yeah! Unless they're stupid!
Lucy&Me- Natsu that's not a nice thing to say
Natsu- What?! I'm not judging I'm just saying
Happy- Natsu you shouldn't talk about yourself like that
Natsu- What you trying to say Happy?! 😡
Happy- That you shouldn't call people stupid cause you're not so bright yourself
Natsu Why you...COME HERE HAPPY!!
*Chases Happy*
