He waited for the children to fall asleep before I felt him lay beside me. I hated this big bed at that very moment as I felt his warmth. I hated being unable to shift my position to move away from his warmth, his scent, him.
"Mel talk to me," he whispered gently taking my wounded hand gently holding it as he turned my tear stained face towards him.

I couldn't even look into his eyes as I cast my gaze away from him closing my eyes. He remained silent not saying a word my hand still in his. I couldn't bring myself to removed my hand from his grasp. This was how we slept as I lay between my children and husband, legs propped up on pillows just as I felt my babies first movement making my floodgates open as I cried for my baby, my family, my life.

I knew I couldn't shut him out forever, that is one thing I was never able to do to Linc. Shutting him out would be like driving a knife into my heart.

I woke up to sound of giggles as the twins were deep in conversation over a game they were playing.
"Come on guys, kiss mama goodbye. Aunt Lia is waiting for you downstairs," Linc said.
I quickly shut my eyes before they saw me feeling wet kisses on my cheek.
"Get better mama," Rose semi whispered into her ear.
"I love you mama," Ryan said.
"We need you mama," Zach whispered before they all left the room leaving me in utter silence.

----

A few minutes later she heard complete silence before the door opened and closed. The heavy step told her it was Linc as he moved to her side throwing off the blanket. Helping her sit up he pulled off her shirt. This was their normal routine but the only difference was that there were no children to chase out, they had gone to their aunts' for who knows how long.

Taking the towel from the bowl of warm water he started to bathe her. His hunger clear as day in his eyes as he saw her body react to his mere touch but kept himself under control. She was baffled at how he still found her attractive as he went to change the water fetching some more warm water. After bathing her he massaged her loosening her tight muscles that were tense from laying in the same position for the past four days.

---

"What are you doing," she asked panicking as he lifted her up gently. Leaving the room he took her downstairs before he lay her on the sofa.
"I thought a change of scenery would be good for you," he said crouching beside her.
"Oh," she said before shutting him out before he could say anything.
His patience was wearing thin, she could tell.

"Lincoln why are you doing this?"
"Doing what?"
"Pretending you still care for me. I have nothing to offer you. I am broken and cannot be fixed."
She looked at him baffled as a smile appeared on his face as he sat her up sitting behind her just as he wrapped his arms around her careful not to hurt her.

"You my love have so much to offer. I know you are depressed love, I can see the signs. You haven't been eating much, shut people out even the children, cry yourself to sleep daily, that is even if you pretend to be asleep most of the time. I want you to know you have so much to offer.

Take for example your head, my Mel's intelligent mind is still in there just waiting for me to make a mistake so she can fix it as always," he said seeing a small smile appear on her face.

"The eyes I love getting lost in are still intact and can clearly see all this handsomeness and fine male specimen sitting with her," he said as he felt her scoff.

"The lips I love to taste day and night are still there to pucker up and get some from daddy," he said in a husky voice as his hand moved to her chest.

"The heart that beats in union with mine is still beating. Making the rhythm I love to fall asleep to and wake up to each and everyday. Pumping and giving life to my wife, my everything. Beating faster everytime I touch her, look into her eyes, taste her lips, beating for our child," he said resting his hand on her belly.
"The fruit of our love," he murmured against her ear as her body shuddered.

"Your legs might be of no use right now, but I don't care because I still have you here with me. I never want to experience the same feeling I had when I thought you were gone Mel. It nearly killed me but I had to stay strong for the kids," he said as tears ran down his cheeks and hers.

"You will walk again love but you just have to give it time. I don't want you to ever think you are a burden," he said as she gasped as he voiced her main concern.
"You are my pride and joy. And nothing pleasures me than doing the little things for you. Carrying you around, which is good exercise I must say, because whew...," he teased.

"Being with you," he said his eyes twinkling with pure joy and adoration. "Kissing you," he said in a low husky like voice. "Bathing you," he murmured watching her cheeks darken. "Dressing you," he said as she looked down shyly. "Being with you is all I really need."

"Infinity times infinity if how much I love you," he said sincerely.
"And I you. Forgive me for shutting you out and everyone," she whispered.
"I already did that long back," he said with a smile.

"Now would you care for some fresh air in the garden?"
"Than would be lovely. Then maybe we can discuss what exactly I want you to do to Marco," she said with a smile.
"Hmmm interesting topic indeed love," Linc chuckled as he took the wheelchair placing her in it before wrapping a blanket around her.
Mom and dad are taking care of Sofia. She has already lost most of her trusted friends after a little rumor here and there is curtesy of mother dearest," Linc said making her smile.

Cas's POV

"Ah The Butcher. It's been a while my friend," I said slapping the man on his back making him choke on the piece of beef he had just swallowed.
"Cas...Caspian. How are you? Long time indeed. My condolences I heard what happened to Victor," he rambled.
I chuckled shaking my head before shrugging off my jacket handing it to a passing waitress.

"There is someone I need you to meet," I said taking a seat in front of the man as he gripped his knife and fork tightly.
"My friend here is done," Linc said as several heads turned to look at him. "We wouldn't want you to cut yourself," he said pulling out a chair for himself.
The waitress returned to remove the plate of food and utensils leaving the wine glasses.
"Your drink sir," the manager said pouring the juice into the glasses."
"I hope you don't mind. I am not a fan of alcohol, mainly because of my wife," Linc said.

"Women," I chuckled looking at The Butcher as he chuckled at my statement.
"Hey my Mel is different from other women," Linc said with pride.
"Remind me again what you said you would do to anyone who harmed her?" I said seriously wiping off the smile on his face.

"Well that's for him to find out once I get ahold of him. This is him right? Well one of them," Linc said as they turned to look at The Butcher.
"Now Linc be nice. The man didn't do much harm to her. I mean I have seen his work firsthand."

"Listen Cas, Marco forced me. He had my little girl and wife locked up. I didn't want to harm her, especially since she is pregnant," he said in a panic filled voice.
Linc and Cas burst into laughter.
"Relax Wes," I chuckled seeing him relax slightly.
"I just want to know where those idiots are," Linc said in a chilling tone.
