We're being roasted to death here. It's been 40°C on an average during the day. Can you believe? 45°C in Kolkata?

And we've been playing cricket at the school grounds in this heat. Weird lot we are, huh?

So this chapter is dedicated to my dear bro @jughead2468 who calls himself the #1 fan of this story!

The fan cover is made by @2001shubh. I like the simplicity of it.

New character alert!!

Enjoy!

Chapter 16 : Days of Misery

*Unedited*

"What did just happen?"

"Go away."

"That's my place you are sitting in."

I looked up. The stalker girl from Nutri class. What was her name again?

"This is Tuhina's seat."

"And I sit beside her. So you better move and let me get inside."

I stood up without another word and moved aside. She sat down and I took my seat once again, putting my bag between us this time.

"Didn't you have your tiffin?"

I pretended as if I couldn't hear her.

"Eat. Else you'll feel more sick."

She was talking way too much. I wanted silence. It was frustrating, so I put my head down on the table, feeling like pulling out each and every strand of hair on my head.

What would happen once the incident of the last period spread all over the school? What if they found out -?

No no no they wouldn't. No one should know. I won't let anyone know.

Something was being unzipped beside me and a moment later, I was tapped on the shoulder. I raised my head and turned to see the girl holding up a box of grapes she'd found in my bag.

"Eat up."

Who the fuck even gave her the permission to touch my bag?

I was just about to return to my private sulking when she pulled me back. Irritated, I scowled at her.

"Don't you dare give me that face!"

"Who the hell are you to tell me what to do?" I snapped at last.

"And you wonder why you don't have any friends!" she looked equally pissed. "I'm trying to help here, and all you're doing is .... this!"

"Who has even asked for your help? I'm fine."

She gave me a dry look. "How could Ishan even tolerate you for so long?"

That name alone set off a raging fire inside me. "DON'T YOU SAY THAT NAME EVER AGAIN!"

Around us, the other students turned to look at me and almost at once, I felt my claustrophobia kick in.

It was the same feeling again. The walls were closing in on me. As if they had invisible hands trying to choke me to death. The people around me seemed to be drilling holes in my skull. I couldn't focus any longer. There were black spots in my vision and my head was throbbing like someone was hitting it repeatedly with Thor's hammer.

I squeezed my eyes shut when I felt my head moving on its own accord. No, the hand wrapped around my head seemed real this time and I was being pulled into someone's embrace. Another hand rubbed my back soothingly. How I wished it was the warm, bear hug I was so fond of. Somehow, I knew it wasn't.
