YAY FOR CHAPTER 50 WHOOOOOO!

-

Josilyn Pov

"Why won't she open her eyes?" I whine, looking down at Brianna.

"Sometimes it takes time. It's different for every baby." The doctor says.

"She opened them for me when I held her." Lou says.

I scowl at him, "Stop rubbing it in my face."

"I'm just saying.. she's probably a daddy's girl." He smiles.

"Josie its getting late, I think it's probably because she's asleep," Niall says, referring to her slow breathing.

"I can't tell though. She may just breathe like that because of her lungs." I groan.

"I got an idea!" Louis lightly nudges her foot.

Her toes curl slightly.

"See? She's clearly awake." He says like he's some genius.

"You don't have to be awake to do that Louis," Liam laughs.

"Well I mean what else was am I supposed to do?" He exclaims.

"Louis shh you're gonna-"

Brianna then begins to fidget in my arms. Everyone got quiet and began to gather around as she slowly opened her eyes.

Only slightly. But I could tell she was staring at me. I just couldn't quite see the color of her eyes.

I smiled wide at her.

"Well I guess now we know how to get her attention." He chuckles, rubbing her small fist.

"Yelling?" Niall raises an eyebrow.

"Mhm." He nods.

I just shake my head at him.

"She's a quiet one." The doctor notes.

"Yeah cause I know that whenever Louis wakes me with his yelling, I'm usually pretty pissed."

I laugh.

"How does she eat? Shouldn't she be hungry?" I ask.

"We had to move breathing tubes to her nose and then fed her special milk made for this cause."

I simply nod, looking back down at her.

I want to feel her cheek.

Be able to poke her nose.

See what color her lips are.

Find any resemblance between us.

But I can't see anything behind this breathing mask. I frown.

"What's wrong?" Louis asks.

"I can't see her face," I sigh.

"I know.. but we will tomorrow." He tells me, squeezing my hand.

Tomorrow will be too late. Tomorrow is not good enough.

I of course don't say this aloud though.

Saying it aloud would only add to my hidden pain.

"Yeah.."

He notices my quietness and sighs.

"Remember, you said stay positive," Louis reminds me. "She's going to be okay."

I slowly nod and he kisses my cheek.

"I took a few notes and did a bit of research with Brianna's body and I've managed to come up with an estimated time of when the body's deadline is." The doctor tells us.
