So this chapter is pretty long, and i hope it makes up for the delay! (and the song over to the right, i absolutely LOVE that song.)

Brian was pretty sure his jaw dropped when Lyric said no. Of course, he said he would understand if she rejected him, but he had expected her to say yes. And in all honesty, he didn’t quite know why she said no.

“You at least owe me an explanation,” Brian said, hoping to hear her reasons, then somehow convince her to say yes.

“Bri, I like you a lot, a whole lot in fact, but before I jump into a relationship with you, I need to fix things with my brother,” she told him, trying to breath evenly as to avoid another breakdown.

Brian understood that, but he wasn’t really sure how he should respond. Simply saying “okay,” seemed like it wasn’t enough, but what else was there to say? So he settled for “alright,” as he rocked back and forth on his heels.

“I’m not done,” Lyric whispered. And Brian just nodded his head. “You guys are about to go on tour, so where does that leave me? How does that work? We start a relationship and at the end of the month you leave until February? I’m not sure how I am gonna be able to stand my best friends and brother leaving for 3 months, let alone my boyfriend,” she confessed.

Brian couldn’t help but chuckle to himself. He and the boys, and Val, were all under the impression that she was tagging along. Matt even said she was coming! They weren’t sure how they were gonna survive without her!

“Lyr,” he started when he noticed her glaring at him for laughing. “We all thought you were coming with us!” he exclaimed.

Now that he mentioned, it she did remember Matt mentioning her going with that night he came to tell her about their upcoming tour, but she was so busy trying to figure out what they were gonna do with Brian’s broken arm that she never really thought about going with them. And she kind of felt like she would be intruding if she went – touring was part of their career as musicians, their job, and was afraid she would feel unwanted if she went.

“I kinda thought maybe you guys would want me to stay home,” she confessed quietly as she shoved her hands into her sweatshirt pockets.

“We would love for you to come! And I speak for everyone when I say that… Zack included.” Brian said, hoping she’d travel the country with them.

He could see her thinking through the idea of leaving with the band. “Come on! It’ll be so much fun! And just think, we’re going on tour with Seether,” Brian said, not even sure if she liked Seether or not.

“Sign me up!” she yelled excitedly and Brian laughed as she jumped up and down. “Wait, is Seether really going to be there?” She asked, not believing him for a moment.

“Of course, why would I lie to you?” He asked.

“Shaun Morgan is the shit!” She yelled, running around outside the blue building. Brian just stood there, amused, and chuckled to himself.

Zack watched as Lyric hesitantly walked into his foyer. “Go have a seat in the music room, I’ll get us some drinks,” he told her, attempting to waste time before he had to talk to her.

Making his way to the music room, an unopened beer and a half empty one in his hands, he couldn’t help but feel a little nervous.
