"Have you heard from her dad?" I yelled as I ran into my home . I tossed my book bag on the floor and jogged to the kitchen to see my dad and my uncle Kaleb holding my baby sister . I didn't like the sight I was seeing .

"No Lani." My dad sighs as he rubs his temples . My dad was really stressed which broke my soul in half . I wasn't even able to focus on school today . I was only hoping that things would get better and that everything will go back to normal .

My mother been gone for almost a month now . My dad been trying to call but haven't been getting an answer .

"I'm pretty sure she just wondered off somewhere . She's grown. Let her be." Kaleb ranted . He places his finger in Jessie's hand and she gladly took hold of it . She briefly looks at him which made Kaleb laugh , sending kisses on her cheeks .

"But she have never wondered off and not give me a call." My dad saids . He turns around and leaned against the counter , folding his arms across the other .

"She's a drug addict Sean." Kaleb raises his eyebrow . "You know how rowdy they can get. You can't have that negativity around your kids anyway."

"There's a lot of negativity that's smothering us ." I mumbled . Kaleb side eyed me , letting me know that he heard me loud and

"Hopefully she'll come around and clean herself up." My dad squeezes the bridge of his nose .

Trimise

I gave the punching bag all my strength , sending blows after blows after blows . Sweat is trailing down my face as the temperature in the room increased including my headache .

"Tre!" I kicked the punching bag and turned to see my boyfriend , Omar along with his crew .

"You went to work?" His arms were stretched to emphasize how aggravated he was .

"No." I shrugged . I sat down and twisted the top off my bottle of water , quickly pouring water into my mouth .

"You quit?" He frowned at me .

"No I just--" I signed . "I just need a break"

He huffed , licking his lips as he stared off into the ground . "We don't have time for breaks Tre . You agreed to work 10 through 3."

"Omar please." I held up my hand .

"No . Tonight you're going back to work because Haze isn't gone blow my fucking phone up wondering where you are." He saids angrily .

I rolled my eyes as I placed my hands on my hips . "You're done?"

He glares at me as if he wanted to hit me which I know he doesnt have to balls to do . "Be there tonight." He points at me then turns to walk away.

Life is only getting harder but it's up to me to continue fighting . I thought as I continued with my workout .

When we came home from dinner , I decided to go for a walk . I went to the small park that was around the corner from where I lived . The sky was mysterious and dusty looking while the clouds scattered about trying their best to cover the stars , putting fear in most people's hearts .
