#9: Paralysis

Behind my wardrobe there she stood,
Hunger in its eyes and me as her food.
Night by night she was always there,
So I look back at her deathly glare.

One night she revealed herself,
And I know it's past midnight twelve.
Slowly she crawled to reach me,
Prepared to eat, please don't let this be.

She held my flesh so hard and rough,
She's thin as a knife, she was surely tough.
I know I was never alone,
Her fingernails dug deep through my bone.

I caught glance to the sight of her face,
And I thought t'was the end of my days.
Her teeth was like the jagged mountain,
Sharp enough to pull out my vein.

Her eyes pitch black and round,
With no sign of light to be found.
She moved closer and our faces inches apart,
She opened her mouth and devoured my heart.

I woke up and I never died,
Minutes passed and that's when I cried.
A glance to my arm and saw bruises and a scar,
I really thought I made it this far.

I had thought she was never real,
The monster's here, I could feel.
She left a mark I would never forget,
A girl who lived inside my closet.
