LUCY-

I began walking from the house of which I had lived in for the past year and a half. I knew in my mind I would never return. I couldn't. Putting them in danger was the last thing I wanted to do. My mind kept thinking of Lockwood's expression. Of the last words he spoke to me.
'I hope you find what your looking for'
What did that mean? Was he angry that I left. Was he hurt? No, he couldn't be. He was probably dancing around in his room right now screaming yay she's gone. George was probably having an enjoyable conversation with Holly. They were probably thinking this was the best day of their lives since I had joined. But what was I looking for?

Soon my mind shut down and I stopped thinking. I just absentmindedly walked along these vacant streets when I heard my name being called.
I turned around to see the one and only Quill Kipps dashing for me. I stopped and waited. He soon caught up to me.

"Yes?" I asked. I wasn't happy with his presence but I was trying to be nice. So with my fake smile plastered back on my face I looked up at him and his big eyes.
" I heard you have resigned from Lockwood and co. And I wanted to offer you a job." He smiled. I was about to turn him down flat when an idea popped up. I was looking for a job and who really cared if I joined him.
"What are you offering?" I asked. He lit up like the Fourth of July.
" you would have a room of your own, food is free of charge. Your pay comes every other week. Basically the perfect like for the perfect person. You know I knew from day one I had made a mistake not employing you. You truly are a remarkable girl." He smiled.
" I might just have to take your offer up." He smiled
"Really?"
"Really."
" oh Lucy this is incredible. Thank you." He looked down towards his freshly polished shoes. When he looked up again his smiled was replaced by something else. I couldn't recognize it at first. I was startled when his hand came up to cup my face. Something took over in his eyes. Desire.  He backed me into the wall behind me and rest his forehead on mine. My heartbeat kicked up and my cheeks flushed. I was frozen to the spot. I could faintly hear footsteps in the distant but nothing else could be heard. Quill leaned in and kissed me. His lips were soft and gentle. I don't know what compelled me to do so but I was soon kissing him back. He smiled and hugged me tighter; his arms closed around my waist leaving no room between us. My arms wrapped around his neck, bringing him closer. He smelled of tea and books. A scent much to familiar to Lockwood's. My eyes opened for a spit second but felt like and eternity when my eyes fell upon Lockwood. The footsteps. They were his. I pushed Quill back and screamed. He turned around and his face flushed. Nobody moved. Lockwood was at a stand still. I couldn't breath. I had just ruined many things all at once.
my dignity for starters but I also lost a friend. And my crush. I knew I had feelings for Lockwood. I always had. But what I had just done ruined all of that. Quill was the first to regain control and he laced his soft fingers threw mine. I took hold of my belongings but never released my gaze on Lockwood. His eyes were so hollow, so fragile. I didn't want Quill I wanted him. But there was no going back for what I had done. So instead I followed Quill. Looking over my shoulder one last time at the sunken form of an old friend.
