Once I was four years old
So young, foolish, so clueless
To the wonders of the worldI thought life was like taking
A stroll thru the park
So easyOnce I was ten years old
I stopped believing in fairytales
I knew Santa was a man with
A beer bellyStill breezing thru my easy life
Surrounded by so many friends
Late nights spent lazing around watching tvOnce I was sixteen years
I thought I knew everything
About everything
But boy would I learn that
I knew nothingFriends came and left along with my depression
I no longer had the world at
My fingertips
Late nights spent studying
Striving for perfectionNow I'm twenty-two years
I'm stranded in this thing called life
It's been a bumpy road
But I learned a few lessons along the way
And still waiting to learn moreStill navigating thru my life
I figured out that life is like rock climbing
Sure it isn't always easy
There will be a few bruises along the way
But it's worth it
Once you get to the top and
Enjoy the beauty in lifeRemember you've only got one shot at life
There is no wrong or right way to live as long as you're happy*****************************
The song 7 Years by Lukas Graham inspired me to write this. The quote is a line in his song. Its not nearly as good, but I tried my best.I wanted to say that I'm not actually twenty-two. I just wanted to keep the ages six years apart. My age shall remain a mystery.
Also, mostly everything is made up or exaggerated for the benefit of the story. So no worries, I don't have depression.
