"Im fine dad . Can we just go home? Im tired." I sniffled .

"Okay baby but first you have to tell me whats wrong?" He held a firm grip as he searched for my eyes.

"It's too cold outside dad." I wiped my eyes .

"The weather is making you this emotional? Is it that serious?"  He squints his eyes at me .

"Dad it's supposed to be spring and it's cold outside. This is not right." I started to weep but not from what I'm speaking on . The pain between my legs were increasing every passing minute .

"Lani it's just an Easter snap." He pulled me close to him . "Is it that time of the month?" He whispers .

I nodded my head even though i wasn't on my period .

"Well let's get you home." After getting Jessie from one of my aunt's husband sister , we said our goodbyes then left shortly afterwards .

We arrived home twenty minutes later . When we made it , I ran into the house and jumped in the tub . I just wanted the hot water to burn my flesh .

"Lani!" A harsh knock came onto the wooden door.

"Yes?"

"Tre is here for you." My dad announced . I carefully climbed out the tub and dried my body . I got dressed in my long pants and tshirt including my socks then I exited .

I went straight to the front door and was greeted by my cousin .

"Ready to go?" Her eyes were low and red . Did my father notice this?

"Yea I'm ready."

I closed the door and was sure to lock it . We got inside her light blue Altima and drove off .

"Where are we going?" I asked her .

"Home." We were slowly cruising down the street while listening to Dear Mama by Tupac . We were doing the definition of joy riding .

After awhile , we finally reached our destination . The area seemed quiet and calm but as soon as we went inside , it was chaotic and insane .

Music boomed through the black speakers that were placed in the corners of the living room .

"What the hell!" Tre exclaimed . I could tell that she was upset .

She grabbed my hand and tapped someone on their shoulder . They turned around and gladly greeted her but she didn't return the gesture . She was asking about her oldest sister's whereabouts . He pointed to the direction of where she may find her .

"Stay here." She said to me . I nodded and obeyed . I stood near the door while she went to find her sister .

"You look a little bit too young." Someone said next to me . I looked to see a group of guys sitting in a circle , smoking and drinking . They seemed to be chilled and a lot older .

I didn't bother to respond to him .

"How old are you?" He asks .

"16." I spoke not keeping eye contact .

"You shouldn't be here." He said as he exhaled a puff of smoke .

"This is my cousin's house." I told him . He nodded as he placed his ciggarette in an ash tray.

"Come sit." He patted an empty space next to him . I furrowed my eyebrows . I noticed he wasn't looking directly at me but farther off behind me . So I looked in the direction that he was looking and noticed an older guy watching me in a awkward , lustful way .

I quickly followed his demand and sat in the empty space . Soon the creep noticed this and walked off into the kitchen .

"What's your name?" He turns to me .

"Lani." I told him .

"I'm Gavin." He introduces himself . "And that's Haze , Jeremy , and Fish." He pointed to the rest of the group .

"Fish?" I glared at the fish guy . By the looks of it I can tell why he is called Fish . He very much resembles one .

"Yelp thats me." He cheeses .

All of a sudden , the crowd started to run out the house . I was beginning to get scared . They were screaming and was in a big rush to leave . The guys next to me realizes this and decides to leave as well . Within a few minutes , the house was empty.

The only reason I didnt leave was because i didnt see my cousin leave . I wasnt gone leave her behind .

Trimise then comes into the living room with a machete .

"I'm tired of this!" She growls then ran upstairs . I quickly stood and followed her .
