It's the second day of the training trip to Leon's island, everyone in Kiniro's group had gotten stronger thanks to card fighting each other and members from Kai's group...that is except for Kiniro himself. He is still saddened from his best friend Kurai down grading their friendship to the point of destroying it.
~Hallway~
Kiniro was walking down the hallway heading to see the others after they asked him to train with them. As he was walking Leon was in sight.
"It seems you have come out of hiding" Leon said looking at Kiniro
"...Hello Leon" Kiniro greeted
"You seem to be uncertain in your path" Leon exclaimed
Kiniro stayed silent as he continued to walk away.
"This wind is one in distress and confusion" Leon said as Kiniro walked away
~Roof~
Kiniro had arrived at the roof to see his friends gathered around Hedeyoshi and Hikaru fighting, they notice Kiniro arriving and turn towards him.
"Hey Kin" Yudai greeted
"You feeling alright?" Hikaru asked
Kiniro had his face hidden for a moment but then was revealed to have a smile on his face.
"Y-yeah I'm fine just trying to wrap my head around what happened" Kiniro said nervously
Everyone was able to tell right away that Kiniro was trying to put on a fake smile so they would not be concerned about him.
"Kin how about we have a card fight" Yudai suggested
"Sure lets do it Yudai" Kiniro stated
"Stand up vanguard" Yudai yelled
"Stand up powerful vanguard" Kiniro yelled
It was a few turns in and Kiniro and Yudai were tied at 4 damage, Yudai had his avatar Orionus as his vanguard while Kiniro's vanguard was Oda Nobunaga.
"I ride Future Generation Legacy Hero, Master Clockwork" Kiniro announced
Everyone found it strange that Kiniro didn't do his usual ride for Clockwork even forgetting to call him his avatar.
"Kin we know its still bothering you" Yudai stated
Kiniro lost his composure but he soon recovered.
"No I'm ok theres nothing to be worried about" Kiniro said in a half hearted tone
"Kin...you haven't been fighting like your usual self" Yudai stated
"Of course I have, this is how I play" Kiniro countered
"We have been through a lot and in those times you always had fun when card fighting...but in that fight against Shade...you weren't having fun" Yudai explained
"T-thats not true...I haven't-"
"Kin" Yudai interrupted looking Kiniro with dead seriousness in his eyes
Kiniro was left speechless hearing Yudai interrupt him. Yudai looked at Izo as if to tell Kiniro something to which Izo replied to with a nod.
"Kin, Kurai wasn't being honest back in your fight" Izo interrupted
"Izo...Shade...Kurai made it perfectly clear...he doesn't care about me now and never did..." Kiniro said now with lifeless eyes
"All the things he had said they weren't to convince you that he doesn't need saving...it was to convince himself" Izo stated
"What are you talking about?" Kiniro asked life returning to his eyes
"Although I don't know why but he seems to be trying to protect you rather then hurt you" Izo explained
"You can't say that for certain...he...he" Kiniro said starting to well up with tears
"It is true Kiniro Inazuma" A mysterious yet familiar voice stated
"Who said that?" Kiniro asked
At that moment everyone was transported to the surface of Cray in spirit form and in front of them was...Kurai's avatar Don Dave.
"Don Dave?" Kiniro said confused
"Thats right, I'm contacting you to tell you all that my vanguard did everything that he did...disappearing...leading the Cinque Defenders...was all because he is protecting you all from Abyss" Don Dave explained
"Abyss?!" Kiniro and Hedeyoshi yelled shocked
"Isn't that..." Yudai started to ask
"Yeah he was the one that Kiniro and the others fought" Hikaru stated
"But Clockwork finished him off...we saw him disappear" Kiniro exclaimed
"Thats what we all thought...but before he was completely destroyed he traveled back to the past and found refuge within the Void during the battle against the Reverse" Don Dave explained
"But that would mean..." Hikaru started to say
"Void is trying to revive again" Yudai finished
"If thats the case then why didn't Shade ask me to help, I'm his...was his best friend!?" Kiniro asked
"He didn't want you to get involved because he knew it would be dangerous" Don Dave answered
"I-I'm so glad...he didn't" Kiniro said with a weak tone
Just then Don Dave started to disappear.
"I don't have anymore time...Kiniro..please save my vanguard from his suffering" Don Dave asked
"I will...I won't rest until I save him!" Kiniro announced with determination
"Thank you" Don Dave said as he finally disappeared
When Don Dave disappeared Kiniro and the others returned to Earth with the moon in the sky.
"So Shade left because he was making sure Abyss doesn't revive" Hedeyoshi stated
"Seems so...if what Don Dave said is true that would mean the Quatre Knights...the ones the Cinque Defenders are protecting are making sure the Void isn't revived...considering what Kai's group told us after the incident at the ruins Aichi may be involved in some way" Izo explained
"In what way exactly?" Hikaru asked
"No idea...but one things for sure we should confront the Cinque Defenders again and ask Shade directly" Izo answered
"Well Kin, we gonna go after him or what?" Hedeyoshi asked
Kiniro was looking at his deck for a moment but shortly after he looked to his friends.
"I know I caused you guys some problems recently...and I wasn't fighting like myself...but...lets go and bring our friends back" Kiniro exclaimed
"Yeah" Everyone replied
