August's POV

I met some cool dudes out here in Long Beach already. My boys Terry and Alvae. Alvae spotted this chick at the mall and i thought she was nice, man. She had the smile, body n all. So i thought i should get her number.

I introduced myself to shawty and she just went stupid on me. Like- i was tryna be nice to her ass because usually im really impatient with people. She lucky i didnt flash out. But anyway, when she walked off Terry and Alvae was cracking jokes but its all good. Soon as i see her again ima check her and see what her problem was since it really wasnt no problem.

But i was gonna hit this party but we still moving into the house and stuff and my mom needs my help. Its finally just me, her and my lil sister. Ima help my mom with her bills. I couldnt just leave her since we just lost my older brother Prenell like six months ago.

This lady came over talking to my mom and stuff. So my mom might like the place a lil better since she knows a couple of people now.

Next day, Saturday. 7:07a.m

Dartez's POV

I left Aaliyah's house early so i could go home and get a couple of things i needed. I left 7 in the morning so when i get home, everyone would be sleep. My house is only like- three blocks away.

I walked in and creeped up to my room and packed mostly things ill need for school, hygiene products, hair things, and more stuff. I walked into the hall and looked down at the bathroom and i heard my step dad moving around in there. I creeped down stairs really fast! My mom was in the living room so i took the back door through the kitchen.

I jumped the fence and took a short cut back to Aaliyah's. I got to her house and Aaliyah and Ms.Gela were in the kitchen eating breakfast.

"Smells good." i said taking a seat as Ms.Gela placed a hot plate in front of my face.

"Where you went to?" Aaliyah asked.

"Home."

We ate then i went upstairs to the room. I checked my phone and i had two missed calls from Garry and a voice mail. He still blows my phone up constantly. I checked my voice mail after.

* Voice mail *

Hey Dartez. I know you may hate me but i wanted to tell you im in California. Ill be leaving Monday afternoon. So i was wondering did you wanna get together or have dinner? I just wanna make up everything to you- if its cool! I love you Dartez.

Aaliyah sat on the bed and listened to the whole thing since i had it on speaker. I put the phone down and rolled over on my back. I aint got time for that!

"So you going?" she asked all jittery.

"NO- Garry not bout to make a fool out of me. I know how this shit ends. He aint no good- like forreal forreal. He played with my feelings enough!" i said upset since he thinks ill be STUPID enough to fall in his trap. Plus its Saturday, i wanna go to this party!

"Ughh. Anywho, im gonna go over to a 'friends' house. Ill be back in about a hour." Aaliyah said and i just knew she was bullshitin me.

"So your gonna leave me here?"

"It wont be long. Im coming straight back, girl." she said but i knew she wouldnt be straight back.

I signed and layed down. It was now 8:00 so i guess ill take a nap until she gets back...
