Chapter Three:
Completely changing the topic. While I was in 7th grade, there was this one really awkward Asian kid. When we got our yearbooks, he got over 100 people to sign it. Most of them were from complete strangers. He had approached me to sign. I remember that he asked me to draw something on the paper there for him. When I wrote something down, he told me that my handwriting has been the nicest out of all the signatures. I was never grossed out by this kid- I kinda liked him. When I was reciting a poem earlier that year, he listened and loved how I added expression. At the very end of the year, we had to return our borrowed textbooks to the library.
We would bring our textbooks to school and return them during our science class. That year, my science class was upstairs on one side of campus. The library was on the other side. Carrying 4 textbooks was bad enough, I could manage though. However, one of my so call friends didn't want to carry hers and placed her stack on my stack. She then ran ahead so I couldn't hand them back. I was carrying them, barely keeping it level, when I was watching the kids in PE class. I got distracted for a while until one book fell. When I was trying to place down the other 7, all of them fell. I was already in the back of the class so now I was far behind. My Asian friend (Adam) then came up to me and asked if I had fell. Adam was already holding 8 books- his and his friend's. He gave the 4 books that originally belonged to the friend back and then carried my extra 4 books. I couldn't be more grateful for him to stroll along and help me with that. Then again, I didn't want to take advantage of him, but he didn't seem to mind.
The next school year, during my PE class, I saw Adam again. We both looked at each other at the same time and immediately said hello and fangirled. That class period, we completely ignored the teacher and talked until the class ended. I found out he had been in my Geometry class which is right after PE. We talked on the way there and sat next to each other in class. When the instructor finally made a seating chart of our choosing, him and I stayed where we wanted to be while everyone else moved. I wasn't sure if Adam and I had a thing during intermediate school because whenever we got the chance, we would hang out and chat. He was one of my first guy friends.
Adam was pretty tall compared to me and never brushed his hair. That was one thing I really liked about him. Adam was also pretty shy and usually got closer than normal. One of his friends and I were talking when he told me that Adam was wearing pajamas that day. I find it hilarious when guys don't care how they appear. I don't like those people that are so vain or actually try. If I knew Adam for a year or so longer, he probably would be the only one to know about this and actually heard my voice when hearing it.
