"Bro, wanna go bowling tonight?" Justin asked uninterested.
Everything he does, he does it to impress me. He is too accommodating and its annoying. Doesn't he have wishes of his own?
"Nah, Jenny is comin over" I said just to get him off my back. Truth be told, Jenny is going to come over- after I text her now.

"Do you like her?" Justin asked trying to stay cool. I knew it from the very start that he liked Jenny, he has been crushing on her since 7th grade. Everyone pretended to be oblivious to it even when it was obvious. That is one of the reason why I am not pursuing her seriously. I don't even like her that way.

"Not really, why do you ask?" I asked to fill in the awkward silence.

"Can't a man just ask his bro if he is falling in love?" Is asked jokingly.

I have never been in love and I don't think I'll ever be. I have dated a lot if girls and attraction is the only thing I feel. Never have I ever felt love. I don't think it actually exists. Of course, you would start caring for that person in the long run but the falling is just a lie. If you are waiting for that, keep waiting, you'll be waiting for it your whole life. Your hair will start to grey and then you would regret not listening to me.

"Love is love, there is no falling" I said sipping the chill beer.

"Well.,.I have to disagree with you on that. There is a fall. You just have to find the right person. So....are you like... are you going to....I mean, are you going to break up with Jenny?"
I could hear his nervousness and hopefulness in every word he uttered. I have to break up with her, if not for myself then for Justin

"I am. Tonight" I said. I had definitely not planned that for tonight but you gotta make some sacrifices for friendship, at least for the friendships that matter more than life to you. I saw his face light up when I said that.

"Gotta help mum clean up and close. See you tomorrow. Let her down easy. " Justin said with sincerity oozing and coating every word.

"Yeah dude. Bye." I said and handed over my bike keys to him. He does not own a car or a bike for a reason I can't fathom. His daf is filthy rich but he is not your typical spoilt brat. I would praise his dad for that. He works with his mother in a diner. It was his father's rule.
He grabbed the keys and smiled before leaving.

Jenny. Her name lit up my phone, she was calling.

"Hello"

"Hey babe, wanna come over?" She asked hopefully.

"You can come. Justin has taken my bike"

"Will be there before you can count to 10" she said with too much enthu. She was infatuated with me and that is not going to help the break up.

After I cleaned up and cleared the place, I heard the door bell. I walked ovet to the living room and opened the screen door.
Jenny stood there looking like the angel she is. Her curled hair was the darkest brown you'd ever see. Her slender figure had an elegant touch to it. Her eyes were dark brown like her hair whose beauty had been elevated by the light make up. She wore a summer dress with a smile. Only she could be so perfect. How am I going to do this?

"Hi, can I come in?" She asked smiling,

"Yeah" I said nervously.

She walked to the kitchen and poured herself a glass of water before seating herself in the couch.
I sat on the same couch, a few inches away. She could punch right where it hurts but she is not like that. Sne would be confused.

"We need to talk" I said emotionless.

"That is never a good thing" she said with a nervous laugh.

" I don't think this will work out." I sounded like a robot.

"What are you talking about? What did I do? Whatever it is, I'm sorry"

"I don't think you get it. You are amazing. You could never do something wrong. I really care about you but I don't like you that way.

"But..." she was crying. It hurt to see her cry but I have to do this.

"Can we please just be friends?" I asked hopefu6.

She got up and ran out of the door quickly. Should I follow her? I should just let het handle it in her own way.
