Choir was great. They got into their sections, Camila being a soprano, and then just sat back in their seats as the teacher introduced himself, even though Camila has had him as a teacher the past three years already, and went over the syllabus she needed to get signed. Average for a first day. When the bell rang she said goodbye to her friends and made her way to English class. She was kind of disappointed that there was a new teacher because she had really hoped to get Ms. Karlock. She had been her friend Ally's teacher. Ally had already graduated but told the girls that she was the teacher to get. Plus apparently Ms. Karlock loved Ally so Camila would've been on her good side immediately. But oh well. Camila stepped into the class to find that she was one of the last ones in so she just took one of the only open seats near a window. Soon enough the bell rang and the class had begun. She continued to look out the window. "Hello class welcome to English 4 Honors. Before we begin let me take role and match names to faces. Believe it or not- I'm actually pretty good at remembering names. I know. First time you've heard that from a teacher am I right?" Some of the kids murmured a small chuckle. "Luke Arnold" "here" "Ben Braham" "here" Camila quietly hummed so she could test out her voice before saying "here" so her voice wouldn't crack. ""Camila Cabello." Camila was so surprised. The teacher had said her name correctly. "Here." Camila said as she turned from the window and looked at the teacher for the first time. Her eyes Widened. The teacher looked so young! Her hair was jet black and she wore a black formal suit with a white shirt. She was gorgeous.
Camila was taken aback that she would be teaching a senior class when she looked like that....the principal must have known- what was she thinking gawking at this teacher, who was female no less. "I am Ms. Jauregui." She said she wrote her name on the big whiteboard. Camila smiled. That's why she was able to pronounce her name. She noticed the teacher look back at her and give her a small smile. Camila smiled back. "Now class. Today's the first day so I know you don't expect us to do much. So I know if I tried no one would really try and I, like you, don't wanna do any work either. So we're just gonna sit back today. We have to go over the syllabus. The usual- but we'll do that tomorrow since I'm sure every other class is doing that today. Right now we are just gonna do an icebreaker. Say your name again and then something you like to do- to help me remember you by." The class went around and when it got to Camila, she had drifted off into whatever land she was in. "Camila?" Camila's eyes widened "huh?" The class giggled amongst themselves. "Ms. Cabello, what is one thing you like to do. Share with us." Camila blushed a tad. "Erm. I like to sing." Ms. Jauregui's eyes softened mad she smiled. "Hey Cabello you've never sung a day in your life." Said one of the boys in the class whom was oh so proudly at the top in his class in choir. "No one can ever hear you in choir I'm convinced you can't even sing." His friends laughed while a few either gasped or laughed with him. "Mr. Mahone, is it? I'm sure it'll be a lot of fun having detention on the first day of school. Meet me after school or you'll get a referral and longer detention." Said Ms Jauregui. The class oohed. The boy turned red and tried to play it cool and roll his eyes. "Moving on." Camila was in shock that a teacher had stood up for her. Usually those comments were tossed to the side by teachers. This new teacher had her full attention. The rest of the class Ms. Jauregui just talked about what the course was to consist of and what she expected in the class and what not. The class zayned out when the bell rang for lunch. Camila considered staying back and thanking her but she didn't want to come across weird or anything. On the way out she made eye contact with the teacher and mouthed a quick "thank you" and the teacher smiled and nodded. Camila ran out and met up with all her friends at lunch.
