Chapter 9

I start to cry,"What the fuck Javi." I run, I shove past her and I never ran faster in my life. I hear him calling my name, but as the distance grows I don't hear him. I cry and cry, why me I think. Finally I lose breath and I'm in the park. I walk backwards looking behind me, sobbing. I feel empty and hurt, but stupid enough I bump into someone. "Oh I'm sorry." I look down.
"Daniella?" I hear a soft voice. I look up to find Jared. I sigh and quickly wipe my tears.
"Hey Jared," I smile,"How are you."
"Not important but I know you're not the type to get high so, why are you crying?" Jared steps close, observing my red swollen eyes.
"Not important ether." I take a shaky sigh remembering. I realize Javier has touched her skin. He's been with her while we're apart. I can stand the thought of that. But then I realize, it wasn't me who was on his mind for the months. I realize... He's been completely in love with someone else.
"Dani... Want me to take you home?" I pop out of my own thoughts and stare blankly at him. I didn't notice I have been sobbing. But I remember his question and shake my head abruptly. "Okay I won't. But I'm not leaving you here alone. So you're coming with me." I nod my head, I didn't feel creeped out I mean Jared is a really good friend of mine so... I felt safe. I've known him since college started. So the trust really formed between us.

As we entered his house I slouched on the couch as he sat down next to me. "So, talk to me Dani." He nudged me as I leaned on his shoulder.
"You remember how me and Javier ended things for a while right..." Yes I talked to him about it, he's like my best friend okay. Although his girlfriend didn't appreciate it, we didn't care.
"Yeah?.."
"Well we decided to start new again but the girl he has been screwing is pregnant. Meaning he didn't wear a condom. Meaning he was planning to stick with her until I came back. I know it didn't break because trust me I know or I would be pregnant now... What the fuck Jared." I start crying again. He hugs me tightly. Petting my head, trying to comfort me. Then the door knocks so he obviously has to go get that. I spot 2 girls. They both were blonde. Well one girl must've dyed her hair that color cause the roots were brown.
"Crystal has been texting you Jared-" then they make eye contact with me,"Jared, she made it pretty clear she didn't want you around her."
"I'm not even with her anymore. You guys need to stop." Jared rolls his eyes.
The blonde, who seemed to be a natural blonde, glared at me,"Well it's that whores fault in the first place you guys aren't together anymore."
Seriously? I don't need this right now, I thought to myself.
"Jared I'm gonna get going." I start walking towards the door they were all at.
"No, you're staying, they'll be the ones leaving." He gives them a look.
"Crystal won't be happy about this." The other blonde with the brown roots scoffed.
The two girls turn away, as Jared closes the door.

"What was that about?" I ask, sniffling.
He slumps down into the couch,"I broke up with my girlfriend a while ago, so I left my phone here cause she's been going crazy on me whenever I'm hanging out with another girl. So I took a walk, thinking if I see her I'll work things out, if I don't I won't. Then... I ran into you Dani."
I smile,"Well do you love her?" I rest my head on his lap.
Jared slowly plays with my hair,"I'll always love her, but not in the same way anymore... I don't feel it."
We sit in silence, but not an uncomfortable silence.
"Do you still love him." He asks quietly.
"I love him to much it's hurting me Jared. I don't know what to do about it." I slowly tear up.
"I guess we're just two fools in love. Maybe we will find someone." He sighs,"Someday... Someone won't hurt us and they'll love us completely. For who we are and stick with us for the rest of our lives."
I turn to look up at him while I was still on his lap,"And if we don't?"
"Then we got each other." He smiles tucking a piece of hair behind my ear.
"You have stuck by my side since I met you, why?" I curl up against his warmth.
"Because you care about me and have done the same. You have a heart Dani- a pure heart, you're tough and call yourself the queen bitch and you are, but you're soft to those who need it. You have stuck with me and everyone else, you have never left someone's life or side, even if it was hurting you. You put others before you, and I need someone like that in my life. I'll repay you by sticking by you no matter what Daniella. I care about you." Jared cradled me in his arms, which soothed me.
I've known him for a couple of months now,the end of summer or middle of summer to now. I'm kinda thankful. He means everything to me, I can confide in him for anything. "Do you want to watch a movie?" He asked.
"Yeah sure..." I pause for a second, as he reaches for the remote since I'm still on his lap. "Hey Jared?"
"Hmm?" Jared hums.
"Can I sleep over?" I pause,"I just don't want to go back home to find him there you know-"
"Dani" he cuts me off, I look into his big brown eyes,"You can, you don't have to give me a reason."
I give him a smile as we watch whatever movie there was in Netflix.
