I take a deep breath, trying to calm my erratic heartbeat. I cock my gun. I sigh and I can feel how heavy my eyes and body are. Whoever woke me up and has caused this panic is going to wish they had never messed with me.
Someone runs up to us and I see that it's Loki and he came from the back rooms. He grips Steve's shoulder and demands, "Where is Thor?!" with wide eyes of knowing.
"I don't know," he says with honesty.
"If he left—"
"Captain!" Quicksilver gets to us out of breath and panicked. "We can't find Darcy or Jane."
I hold my hand out to get their attention. "Wait, what do you mean you can't find them?!"
"I looked everywhere!" he says in a frantic way.
Steve mirrors his worry but looks even more panicked. "Natasha!" he calls and she runs over. "Has anyone opened the exterior doors?!"
"It did," she stutters, a terror in her eyes I haven't seen before.
"What did—?!"
Just as he speaks the power shuts off, everything going black around us.
It's still and quiet. No one knows what to do and everyone is scared through their bones...
It's like a nightmare in here... like waiting for the monster of our terrors to crawl from under the bed and devour us.
As my eyes try to focus in the dark, I mutter in an aggravated voice—though it shakes slightly from fright—, "Oh, this night just keeps getting better and better."
A dragging sound occurs above us. Something is on the roof... an odd sound... not footsteps. And... it's more than one.
I hold my breath, my eyes wide with fear as the sounds above continue.
Thumping like the devil is knocking at our door ready to take us to the grave... It's bone chilling... and the worst part is we have no idea what it—or they—is and we have no clue what to do...
That's when we hear a distant crying and screaming of a woman, very faint.
There are a couple flashlights that come on, Laura holding one and Bruce the other.
