I shake my head in disagreement. "Tony... bad things happen. In these situations not everyone will survive. But you can't let yourself be blamed for it. If your path hadn't been laid down so specifically then you wouldn't be here now. And where you are is a place in which you have saved hundreds of people just like her. You're not all powerful. You can't expect to be able to save everyone everywhere. They died because horrible people did horrible things. But because of you, you stopped it. You created a peace more solid than anything tour country has seen before. So let the past be the past. Your future is whatever you choose to make it so are you going to fight to save who you can or give up?"

He finally looks at me, something in his eyes that is both hope and adoration. He is often so caught up in joking around and being unfeelingly blunt that when these moments arrive a cherish them. But I can't help the feeling that he seems a little surprised at me.

"What?" I ask.

He lifts his brows briefly and looks down, still facing me. "I've just never heard you talk like that..." He manages a smirk.

"Been trying to say it for years but never had the opportunity... I meant every word." I look at him and he returns my gaze. "I am in love with the man you have become. And I know I joke around about settling and that you're too narcissistic for me but honestly... I will never be able to find a better man than you..." I place my hand on his chest, my palm against the device that's in place there. "And I'm going to spend the rest of my life with you..."

He is looking at me with slight surprise in my honesty and words that are so strong in love that he's not sure how to respond

He is looking at me with slight surprise in my honesty and words that are so strong in love that he's not sure how to respond. That may be a first. His eyes stare into mine with actual and true love in them, his lips allowing for a small smile to show itself. "I love you..." he says with deeper meaning than he has before.

"I know," I smile back and lean forward, giving him a soft kiss as he returns it, wrapping his arms around me gladly

STEVE:

As I walk back through the halls I hear a faint crying. Immediately I turn to the room it comes from only to see not who I was expecting. Wanda Maximoff, the witch from out there, sits in here alone but quickly wipes her eyes before looking at me.

"I—I'm sorry I thought you were Esther. I was on my way to check up on her..." I stutter quietly, feeling bad to have bothered her. Her brother is here as well, somewhere. I am surprised we got both of them to calm down. But I think the hold on them was what made them not able to think clearly and now that they are free, I think they know of why things happened the way they did and that for whatever reason, it's not right to repay death with more death.

"It's alright, I shouldn't be upset anymore. It happened years ago," she says sternly to herself, staring at the floor in front of her.
