"Courtney..." Angelissa said, squinting at her own words, "why such a girly name?" She had her black hair in a short ponytail, wearing a brown leather jacket with ripped old jeans on.
Courtney sighed. His brown hair knotted, since he wasn't able to brush it. He had a red tee on that had a flash symbol in the middle and black sweatpants on.
"It's because my parents hate me. What I wanna know is how can such an innocent name like Angelissa relates to such a sadistic person." He said, with a small smirk on his face. Angelissa slowly turned her head, with a blank stare on her face. She then smiled carelessly and shrugged.
"Who ever said I was supposed to listen to my parents about 'being a good girl?'" She turned forward again, hearing both of their footsteps on the black pavement on their way to school. Her brown eyes looked around. The day was gloomy, with clouds covering any brightness there was. Their grayness reflected in her eyes as a few raindrops fell.
"Great. Rain. Just what I needed." Courtney sighed as he cracked his knuckles. He was never a person to ever like rain.
"On the bright side," Angelissa said quietly. Even though no one was around, she still didn't want anyone to know what was happening, "It's a great day to make an escape." She winked. Her short bangs that were unable to fit in the ponytail fell in front of her eyes, causing her to brush them back.
Courtney smirked. She wasn't wrong to be thinking that, especially since everything had gone wrong in their lives. Besides, they both seemed like simple carefree students, but what really lurked behind them was curiosity, and everyone knows the saying, curiosity killed the cat.
