So I don't know about you, but I have wondered what time period Adventure time takes place in, here are some Theories about that.
Well to start off, when Simon and Marcy first met the time period was never reviled, so many people assumed that it took place in the 80's, because of the song that Simon sang to Marcy. However Simon was 47, and would have grown up (more or less) hearing that song, which would also infer that he great mushroom wars ended in the 2000's. There are a couple flaws with this theories, but one evidence that supports that Finn and Jake are living in 3016. In the show Futurama Jake and Finn appeared in one of the episodes, which could have meant that the show was happening at the same time. There are also facts to suggest that Adventure time could be in another dimension....
Unfortunately we might never know when Adventure Time takes place, and if you take into account that the only people on Ooo that would remember the date would be Marcy and Simon (Ice King)and maybe Princess Bubblegum. But it's pretty unlikely they'll tell anyone.
