Yvonnie
Next day:
Tuesday

I guess today was the day I was gonna tell Odell and Giana I was going to USF. My plan was to fly to Florida in the summer and stay with my grandma until school starts. I knew it was gonna be hard, but I had to tell them.

First, I started with Odell. I picked up my phone and dialed his number. After a few rings, he answered.

"Hello?"

"Hi...Um...We need to talk. Can I come over?"

"...Sure." He said slowly. I sighed and ended the call. I knew it was gonna hurt us but, this was what I needed to do.

I grabbed my acceptance letter and keys off the nightstand. Here I go.

Odell

When Yvonnie told me we needed to talk, I knew something bad was happening. She sounded sad. She's never sad when we're on the phone. Nervousness ran through my body. Does she wanna break up with me? Did I do something wrong?

I got up from my bed and started pacing back and forth, questions filling my head. I was thinking about everything I done. I didn't do anything bad. Why does she wanna talk?

My thoughts were cut off by the doorbell ringing. I rushed out my room and down the stairs. I took a deep breath before opening the door. Yvonnie stood there with a sheet of paper in her hand.

"Hey, come in." I stepped aside. She walked in and as soon as I closed the door she kissed me.

After a while we pulled away and I looked at her with my eyebrows raised in shock, "Well damn, I missed you too I guess." I chuckled but she didn't. Aw damn something is really up.

"Odell...We need to have a serious conversation." She walked in the living room and sat down on one of the couches. I sat next to her, giving her my full attention.

"Alright ma, wassup?"

She gave me the piece of paper that was in her hand. I opened the paper up and began to read. When I finished reading everything, I looked up at her.

"You're going to USF?" I asked. She nodded her head, forcing a small smile on her face.

A part of me was happy and proud of her but the other part was sad. I didn't want to let her go.

"Congratulations, I'm proud of you baby girl." I hugged her. She held onto me tightly and I heard sniffling.

"T-Thanks." She pulled away and stared at me. I looked down and shook my head.

"When are you leaving?"

"A month after graduation." She wiped her tears. I was trying hard not to show my emotions but that shit was hard.

"So we basically have a month together?" I looked up at her. She nodded. My head dropped once again. My baby was leaving.

"I don't want you to go." I mumbled and grabbed her soft hands. I looked into her chocolate brown eyes, which tears were beginning to form.

"I don't want to leave you guys." I took the napkin and lightly pressed it against her eyes.

"It's okay baby girl. We'll make this next month the best. I love you Yvonnie."

"I love you too Odell." She smiled. We both got up and walked towards the door.

"Now I have to go tell Giana. I'll call you later." We both exchanged a quick hug and kiss before she walked out.

Giana

"Huh? Oh, I'm not a princess. I'm a waitress." Tiana said to Prince Naveen.

"A waitress? Well no wonder the kiss did not work! You lied to me!" He yelled at her.

I laid in bed, watching The Princess and the Frog. I could watch this movie all day, to be honest. I love it.

Out of the blue, there was a knock at the door. Can't be my parents cause they're at work...Hm. I got out of bed and went downstairs to open the door.

It was Yvonnie with a paper in her hand.

"Hey Vonnie." I greeted her. She walked in and gave me a hug.

"Hi...Can we talk?" Both my eyebrows knitted together in confusion.

"Sure. Let's go upstairs." I went upstairs to my room and she followed. I sat on my bed and waited for her to tell me what's going on.

Instead, she handed me the sheet of paper and told me to read. When I read "USF" I knew something was up.

When I finished, I handed the paper back to her, "Congrats best friend." I hugged her and smiled.

"Thanks..." She looked down.

"So uh...When are you leaving?" I asked her, rubbing the back of my neck.

"A month after graduation." She replied lowly. I looked down at my bedsheets, trying to hold back tears.

"I-I'm proud of you girly." I finally choked out. I couldn't help it, a tear fell from my eye and ran down my cheek.

"Don't cry GiGi. You're about to make me cry." She came closer and pulled me into a long hug.

"I know you always wanted to go to USF. Since we were younger. Now look at you, you're going in the fall." I sniffled and laughed. "Damn, time does go by fast."

"I'm gonna miss you GiGi." She said with a little giggle.

"I'm gonna miss you too. Just promise me, we'll always stay in contact, no matter what." I held up my pinky finger up. She smiled and intertwined hers with mines.

"I promise."

After that we untwined our pinkies and laughed. She looked at my tv and squealed, "Ooh! The Princess and the Frog!"

"Wanna finish the rest of the movie with me?" I asked her, turning up the tv volume. She nodded and kicked off her shoes, getting the rest of her body in my bed.
