C H A P T E R 8_

"She's the daughter of Thanos," Thor answers. "I read stories about them as a child. Thanos is the world conqueror. He's after six stones of the universe. Two of which were on Midgard. And she has found them. The Mind Stone is in the scepter Loki had. The Space Stone was in the Tesseract. And the Power Stone is in a relic known as The Orb in which she has already received."

"I watched her take the Tesseract and the scepter. She already has three Infinity Stones. And the other three should take just as long to receive. There's no stopping her," Loki says.

"This can't just be the end," Banner says.

It is quiet for a long moment.

"Someone once told me that until the Earth stops spinning I'm going to work like it intends to keep doing so," Rogers says quietly.

We all know who said this. Director Fury has mentioned that statement more than once. And he's right. We can't give up. If this is to end, then let us die trying and die together.

"Then that's what we'll do," Thor says surely.

Rogers nods. "Then we'll have to stop her."

"But what about the rest of the world, I mean look at this? We are not an army," Banner says.

"The military in different countries will take care of Hydra agents individually, but we need to focus on this 'daughter of Thanos'," Clint says.

We gather around the table in the center of the room to try and figure something out.

"What about that ship in the sky?" Rogers asks. "Do we have anything that could take that down?"

"Couple nukes?" Stark asks.

"Not big enough," Banner shakes his head as he thinks.

"You'd get shot down before you get there," Barton says.

I am staying silent as I remember something even more important that Nebula had said... "That's not all..." I mutter.

Everyone looks over at me but I don't meet their gaze.

"Nebula mentioned something else... She said that we all had a weakness and that was..." I look up at the captain. "Steve if we saw a Hyrda agent mixed with S.H.I.E.L.D. agents then..."

"Then Hydra would have gotten into all of our files and data..." he says... his expression starting to show worry.

"And that means they know everything... and everyone we care about," I stress...

Immediately looks are exchanged all around the room as people realize what this means...

There is a long silence and everyone has the same frantic expression.

"Jane," Thor says quietly...

We start dispersing around us and panicking. Thor leaves the base immediately and I can hear him swinging his hammer as he takes off.

Stark is walking by the monitors and his eyes watch as D.C. is burning. With a face of both anger and worry he pulls on his armor from its portable case and flees from the building.

Natasha talks to Clint and both look overly worried. I can hear him say, "S.H.I.E.L.D. doesn't even know," in a whisper.

"Do you really want to take that chance?" Natasha asks.

It doesn't take him long to decide to head straight to the flight deck and Romanoff follows.

I stand there in silence, staring off into the distance. I can sense everyone's panic and worry. It lingers in the room after everyone leaves. It is suffocating. I shift uncomfortably and I rub my arms. I don't like this. This is too much discomfort for me. I quickly walk out of the room and into the darkness filled corridor.
