Chapter 4

Nikki's P.O.V

All throughout the day I have been hit on and asked on several dates. Sometimes when someone asked me on a date or hit on me, I would see Jake tense in the background and send daggers their way but no one seemed to notice except me. I wonder why he was doing that though. Oh well....

I'm sitting in last period staring at the clock just waiting for the bell to ring so I can leave school and get ready for my fight.

Then the bell goes off. Hallelujah!! I all but sprint out of the classroom, earning weird looks but I don't care. I just want to get home. I make a beeline for the front of the school and jump in my car. I speed towards the pre-school, not caring how fast in going. When I arrive I quickly scoop up Tom and put him in the car. I drive out of there and when I men driving out I see Jake pulling in.

I don't waste anytime getting home and  getting dressed. After I finish putting on my clothes, I grabbed my hoodie to put on once I get to "The Arena".

After I left my bedroom, I went to Thomas' room so that I could drop him off at one of his friends house. I got on my motorcycle with Thomas securely in front of me and drove off.

After I dropped Thomas at his friends house, I hopped on my motorcycle and made my way down to "The Arena". When I got there, I saw Jake just pulling up and when he saw me, he looked shocked. I guess he never expected the "nerd" to be seen in the clothes I was wearing at an illegal street fighting arena.

So, I just walked into "The Arena" like it was no big deal, took a seat at the bar and got a soda. After about two minutes Jake came up to me.

"What's a nerd like you doing here?" He asked me. "Oh if only you knew" I thought.

Instead of answering, I just shrugged.
"Where are your glasses?" He asked me.

"Home" I answered.

"Why aren't you wearing them?"

"Contacts" I simply answered.

Then I noticed that the fight had just ended and it was my turn to fight.  So I quickly excused myself from Jake and headed to the bathroom to put on my hoodie. After I made sure my face was covered, I exited the bathroom just in time to hear my name being called. There were lots of shouts and people chanting my name.

I didn't pay attention to when they called my opponent. But when I saw him, he was bigger than me and really bulky. He took one look at me and smirked. He probably thinks that he'll beat me because I'm a girl and smaller than him. Well guess what dude, your in for a big surprise.

As soon as the bell rang he charged for me and I quickly side stepped. In less than a minute I had him pined down and punched him unconscious.

After I stepped off the arena, I took a seat and saw Jake coming this way.

"So your Shadow?" He asked.

"Yup" I replied popping the "p".  I stretched my arms a little and he seemed to notice my tattoo.

"You know, I know a girl that had a tattoo exactly like this." He said.

Uh-Oh. What if he recognizes me? I'd be in some pretty deep crap! "You know, you kinda look like her too." He told me.

"How would you know if I look like her? You can't even see my face." I replied.

He just shrugged and said "Just how you look and stuff. You know, you're body and shape and height. You know?"

"I guess" I shrugged. After a few seconds of silence I got up. "Well I'll be going then."

"Me too, I guess."

So then we walked outside and Jake walked me to my bike when all of a sudden we heard sirens and some people shouted "Cops!"

I quickly jumped on my bike and shouted at Jake "Hop On!" Without hesitation he jumped on the bike wrapping his arms around me. Then I took off down an alleyway and took a couple of turns just in case the cops were following us. I drive all the way back to my house with Jake and hot off.

Then I realized that Jake just found out who I am because I brought him to my house and when I hopped of the bike my hood came off.

Shocked would not even begin to describe Jake's expression when he saw who "Shadow" was. "Nikki?" He asked.

Hey Guy's!!! I'm so sorry I haven't updated in a while. I've just been really busy and stuff so I hope you don't mind. I also hope that you guys are enjoying the book so far.
