(NOT JUST A LOKI STORY - this story is about many marvel characters with Esther Mason and Loki Laufeyson as the main characters - and also includes a Steve Rogers romance side story with... well you'll have to see :))))
~
Once upon a time, there was...
I look at Loki and gesture for him to come along as he looks annoyed. I follow close behind as my eyes keep looking up at the ship in the sky that looks like a metal planet.
Loki walks behind us and I begin to speed up once the muffled voices return in my ear. All around me I can see bodies and people desperately trying to save the wounded. Sirens blare in every direction for every emergency vehicle in existence. They gather people and put out fires around the city.
My feet step in ash and rubble as it rains on us like snow in the air. I run beside Thor and then in front of him as I search around the area. In this moment I feel frightened. I know that everyone is alive... but this all takes me in a way that I know it's much larger than me... bigger than even anything on Earth and that is terrifying.
My ear pieces if making so much static makes me finally yank it off and toss it. I look around the chaos and breathe hard. I call out, "Natasha! Steve!" But there are no answers. I start to run again and Thor does the same to catch up with me.
Another bomb makes the ground vibrate from impact. This one was a little closer.
When Thor reaches me I am in a crowd of people and he places a hand on my shoulder. My eyes scan around for a familiar face and I finally find one. Bruce Banner is with some citizens as they get them into an ambulance and have others looked at. He is dirtier than even I am and he looks over at us after helping a child to her mother.
Amongst the chaos Thor manages to call out, "Banner!" and the doctor turns and moves past some people to get to us. "Thor, where is everyone? Are they alright?" he asks frantically.
I answer instead of Thor, "I tried getting in contact with everyone, but the signal is frazzled. I overheard Barton telling Tony that he and Natasha were shot down near the station--"
"Natasha? Is she okay?" he asks frantically
"I don't know. I think so... But I don't know where anyone else is."
"I saw something come down," he says looking at us both. "What was that? Was that the Helicarrier?" His eyes widen.
I hesitate. "...Yeah. It hit Stark Tower."
His eyes get even rounder and he looks horrified. "What--?" he stutters. "Oh my--let's go," he says before Thor and I run with him to where it crashed.
We travel over the debris and I finally see Rogers there where the ruins of the ship are, firefighters putting out the flames... he looks marked up badly and he stands staring at the wreckage as if he still can't believe his very eyes.

"Barton!" Banner says and I look to see the agent there with Romanoff sitting in the remains of their little crashed plane as he tries to stop the bleeding on the left side of her rib cage. Bruce runs up to help her, leaving Thor and I behind.
"Steve!" I shout, hoping to get the captain's attention.
Rogers looks over at me and when he spots us he runs to us, suddenly just relieved that the rest of us are okay, or at least me as they believe I am more vulnerable.
