"Well... it's an old fashioned notion..." Fury says quietly.
I don't reply... But there is something in me that wishes this initiative was real...
Rogers stands later and leaves out the same way Tony did... Not angrily but with intention.
I look out of the windows for a little while longer. I take a deep breath and then I sigh before walking out the room. I travel aimlessly down different corridors, just seeing where everything is. I have been locked up in a cell, I haven't been able to learn where things are. As I walk I suddenly freeze. The hair on the back of my neck stands on end as a low growl rises in my throat.
Natasha has just walked out of a room on the left side of the corridor. And then I see him. Barton in all his glory. His face is littered with cuts and bruises. His eyes are swollen and his nose is crooked. Suddenly I almost feel bad but the anger drowns that feeling and wishes that he's in a lot of pain...
They don't notice me at first, being a fair distance from where I stand. But when Romanoff spots me she takes a hold of Agent Barton's arm to stop him, saying something quietly that I think is, "let's go this way," from where I can read her lips. He just frowns and asks her why and she looks back at me before leaning in to whisper something to him...
As she tells him this indistinct speech his face grows a bit sick... as if he's horrified at himself and grieved. I can see from here him breathing more heavily. He swallows and glances at me.
He starts to look distressed and then there's something in his eyes that cracks and he turns and exits back to where he came... leaving Agent Romanoff there with hesitation...
I am about to walk somewhere else but she speaks up, "Don't follow him." She walks up to me when I stop and look at her. Her eyes are harsh. "You're going to stay away from him until I can trust you not to kill him."
I glare at her and speak in a low tone as my old self returns. "He killed my family. He deserves worse than what I did to him."
"Clint's mind was taken by Loki through his scepter. He didn't even know what he was doing. You heard of mind control? It's something that makes you a robot of the maker's bidding. When Clint woke up from what you had done to him he didn't even remember it all, like it was a nightmare..." she seems to speak more with meaning at the last sentence and looks down. "It may have been his body doing all of those things but it wasn't him..." she says quietly, looking at the ground. From her words I know immediately its the truth. She knows him it seems, better than anyone on the ship. "He knows it wasn't his fault but he already feels worse than you know about it."
