"It's him, Mitch. He texted me." I said, biting my lip. I could not let Mitch see my phone screen. We both never who I was talking about, however: Alex, my on and off again ex boyfriend for three years. What was I going to do?

We sat opposite each other at the table, as we had a month previously (discussing our true feelings for each other), mulling over why Alex had texted. I was reluctant to show Mitch the message, although it seemed like my boyfriend had already guessed its contents.

"He wants you back again doesn't he." I didn't answer Mitch's question. "Scott, I know you. I've loved you for so long. I know when something big, and bad, has happened. Tell me, I swear I won't be upset."

I showed Mitch the paragraph on my mobile, a text from Alex explaining that he would find me and make my life miserable if I didn't agree to meet him. My dark haired boyfriend assured me that it was an empty threat, and I agreed. I couldn't let Mitch see how scared I was, how terrified I was that Alex had found me, texted me again. Mitch would never know why, he wouldn't understand why, because I had never told him what Alex had done to me. I wasn't ready to tell him my darkest secret, my biggest fear.
