My Only Exception

Chapter 13

I picked up everything that belonged in the drawer and placed it neatly back inside. I decided to go down stairs and get some lunch now since I couldnt go to the mall with katie now. I grabbed the bag of oreos and a juice pouch then headed upstairs. I grabbed my laptop from off the dresser and got on tumblr. That kept me entertained for about 30 minuts. It was around 2 now and I was extremely bored. I picked my phone up and sent katie a text asking if she would like to come over.

** Yea, sure.**

I walked downstairs again to throw my now empty bag away. 

"So are katie and Louis coming over tonight?" My mom asked while drying the dishes she had just washed. 

"Katie is." I replied standing in the doorway. 

"Oh, okay, Well could you do me a favor and tell your dad that we have a new neighbor across the street." 

"okay... are they nice?" I ask because the people who used to live there before were really mean. They always gave me weird looks and the wife always had a sour expression on her face. I dont think that the father was around because I never saw him but they did have a son and a daghter, twins, about my age.

"I dont really know. they seem nice. They have two boys, one who is 11, one who is 18 and a daughter who is 15. I talked to Diane about an hour ago when i checked the mail and she wants to come over this tuesday. I think you and the children will get along. Since you dont have any siblings you can invite Katie and Louis over." 

"okay" I said heading upstairs to my parents room. 

As I approached the door, I heard my dad talking loud, but more like a 'whisper scream' . Who the hell was he screaming at but not wanting anyone to know. 

"... I know... yea... and my wife is going to her freinds house tonight... but she isnt going anywhere tonight.... im sorry.... okay.... yea..." Was all I heard. Who was he talking to. 

"Dad!!" I said knockin gon the door, a little harder than I had intended because I was a bit confused on wether or not I should be mad or not. 

"yes Angela" he said with an annoyed tone, I dont know what his problem is. 

"I was just going to tell you that mom said we have new neighbors and they are coming over on tuesday night so we can get to know them, because apparently they are nice." I said in one breath before turning on my heel and walking away. 

I walked into my room and slammed the door. Katie was taking forever and a day to get here. just as I thought this to myslef I heard the doorbell ring.

"I got it!!" I shouted as I ran down the stairs. When I got to the door mom had already answered it and katie was walking in. 

"Okay girls. I think Angela has already told you about her punishment, But I have to go soon. Your mother and I are going to get cofee and have a ladies night out. " She said to Katie.  "So me and your mother should be back before 10 but if we arent you can stay over I guess." she before she went upstairs to get dressed. 

"okay c'mon I have to tell you something" I say grabbing Katie's arm and pulling her up the stairs. 

Once we were in my room and the door was shut I began explaining to her, the situation with my dad. 

"So what do you think? Do you think my dad is hiding something?...Like ya know.." I begin to say but trail off.

" Ange... I dont know... He could be, but do you think he would do something like that?"
