My Only Exception

Chapter 10

After I got dressed, I called Katie and invited her over. When she got here we grabbed a couple snacks from the kitchen and went upstairs to my room. 

"You seem extra cheerful today" Katie said while grabbing a handful of chips

"I feel normal. I am acting like I normally do" I say 

"Nooo....You and Louis hung out again last night didnt you guys?" 

"Yes.... and he asked me to be his girlfreind...." I shyly say

"Ahhhh oh my goshhh!! I can not believe this" She says jumping up from out spot and trying to pull me up to jump with her

"Well, It happend last night." Katie could see the change in my face as I recalled everything that had happend last night

"What..what is it? What else happend?" I can see the concern in her face now

"Well, last night, before me and Louis came over here we had planned to go over to his place... but when we got there....something happend..."

"What his family iddnt like you" she jokingly says before she notices that I am not laughing. 

"No... Well you know how he told us that his cousin is staying with him?"

"yea"

"well...His cousin is...Leighton"  After repeating his name and thinking about all the things that happend, I could feel my cheeks go pale and I saw the same expression on Katie face. She ws just as shocked  as I was when I saw him last night. 

"Leighton is his cousin. what did you do when you saw him?" I could tell she was hesitant on asking but, I know that if it were her I would want to know too. 

"I studderd and then fainted. I woke up and I was in Louis room. We left snuck back in throught the bathroom and while we were watching the movie he asked me to be his girlfreind and I said yes of course." I paused starting to feel a bit better now " oh and my mom told me her and my dad have changed their work schedules so they will be home more often in case you were wondering why they were here" 

"Yea I was. So how are you and Louis going to work around your house if your parents are going to be home more.?"

"Well my mom knows. So she can help stall and stuff. "

"This is just great Ange!" She says leaning in to hug me "First you and Louis start dating, then you start telling your mom secrets and relying on her. I honestly havaent seen you this happy in a long time. " 

I know exactly what she means. I cant remember the last time I was this happy or if I ever even was this happy before. My mind immediantly went back to a couple monthes ago, the last time I was the saddest, The last time I cut. One thing that I hope will get better being with Louis. I hope that I dont get to that point again in my life that I feel the need to cut. I also cant just put that on Louis, that he needs to be the one keeping me from cutting. I have realized that I need to do this for myself. 

"Lets go do something" Katie says getting up from the spot on the floor.

"Where?" 

"I dont know. A party or something" 

"I didnt here about anyone throwing any parties" I hadnt heard anything about a big party coming up plus I wasnt the type to want to go partying alot. The only reason I went to the party last week was because It ws the first big party of the summer and I needed something to do.

"Its summer break, There is always going to be a party going on somewhere." Katie says interupting my thoughts. 

"I guess" I say getting  up to find something to wear. "Can you find which one we are going to then please." 

"okay and Louis is coming right?" 

"If he wants, its not up to me if he goes or not" Something about her asking me if he was going just upset me. Why should I know if he was or wasnt? We havent talked to him about it yet. 

"Okay, Give me ten minuts." 

By the time it was 8:15 Ange and I were dressed and ready to go. We had told Louis to meet us at the party. When we got to the party it was even more packed than the other one. There was alot of kids from out school that I saw. When we walked around the house until we founf a room with enought room to dance without being rubbed up against another sweaty person. I was talking to Katie when I felt Louis wrap his arm around my waist and leaned in to kiss me on the cheek. 

"Awws you guys are so cute!" Katie chimes. 

"Yea, I think so too" Louis says nuzzling into my neck

This is all kind of weird for me. Not the kissing and PDA just that this is happening. Having a boyfreind who does cute little things for me like this. 

For the next 30 minuts we danced together and Katie found that guy who goes to our school that she met last time at the party. Everything was going well until we heard banging on the doors and Loud booming voices yelling. Before I could even get a chance to think about what wa happening Louis had my hand and was dragging me down the hall. I saw Katie and the guy she was with in front of us. Louis ended up draggin us to a room that was in the very back of the house. He gestured for me to climb on top of his back, so I did. I climbed out of the window and everyone else who was in there did the same. As most of us got out. we saw cops coming around back of the house, looking behind the fences. Louis covered my mouth with his hand as he whispered for me not to freak out. 

"I see some over there." I hear one of the cops yell

At this point I am not even thinking about listening to Louis. Before I know it am running like a track star down the road. When I turn my head I see Louis and a few others running too. We ran until we got to an area on the other side of the street behind the nighbors fence. I can see people being taken out of the house and put into the back of the cars. I saw a girl with flaming red hair. Instantly I was worried about Katie. Louis must have saw the same girl I did and saw my expression. 

"She is over there" Louis says pointing to a few people hiding behind cars down the road. 

After about 15 minuts most of them were gona and a few other were questioning neighbors about noise complaints. Apperantly it wasnt the noise complaints. A neighbor had told the police he smelt a great supply of weed, and saw smoke coming from the back yard.  

When all of the cops left we all met up wiht our freinds and went back to get our cars and left as fast as we could in case the cops came back for some reason. When we finally got back to my house It was only 11:00 and my parents were already asleep so, Louis parked down the road and the three of us went to my room. After we all showered up and got situated me and ange went to sleep on the bed and let Louis make a pallet on the floor. This had been a very exausting day.
