"I'm just trying to make my city a better place, that's all."

"Y/n, stop bouncing your leg, they'll be able to tell that you're nervous." Matt says and reaches out, touching your hand which was currently scratching at the cold, metal table.
"How can you even know that I'm moving?" You ask.
Matt raises an eyebrow and smiles. "I just can."
You roll your eyes and pull your hand away from Matt. He frowns slightly and you start rubbing your hands over the tops of your thighs.
"Y/n." Matt whispers.
"What?" You sigh.
He furrows his eyebrows. "You're still doing it."
"I'm not moving my leg anymore." You whine, sounding way younger than your actual age.
"I know, but you're doing that," He scolds quietly, grabbing one of your hands off your lap, "You need to calm down."
"I can't calm down!" You seethe, unintentionally gripping his hand in anger, "Foggy should be here, but instead, he's screwing around with Karen!"
Matt grabs the bottom of your chair and pulls you to him. The chair screeches loudly against the concrete floor and before you know it, you're in his arms. Matt leans over, being considerably taller than you, and wraps his arms around your waist. He sets his chin on your shoulder and you blush from being close to him. Matt always grabs your hand or squeezes your shoulder in a comforting way, but he had never done this and you had to admit, you liked it. You felt safe in his warm embrace, like nothing in this world could ever hurt or separate the two of you.
"Your heart's pounding." Matt murmurs, leaning his head against yours.
You nod stiffly, your face burning. You run your hand up and down his arm, creating goosebumps on the surface of his skin. He gets a cold chill and flinches, making a small noise that made a grin form on your face. You grip his arm and lean into him, not wanting this moment to ever end. The only thing heard between you two was the faint buzzing of the light above you. Foggy always teased you about your feelings and little did you know, he was always trying to get Matt to ask you out.
Matt could never do that to you. He was the vigilante of Hell's Kitchen. Daredevil. Forming a relationship with you would put you in danger. You would immediately become a target to his enemies if they discovered his true identity. He could never imagine or even bare not having you in his life.
But in this moment, no one mattered besides the two of you. There were no villains, no Daredevil, nothing. It was just a serene atmosphere of adoration and affection.
"You remember that guy I told you about?" You ask, breaking the silence.
He nods and turns his head slightly. "Daryn Mitchell was his name, right?"
"You're more observant than I thought, Matt." You say, closing your eyes, "Well, he dumped me."
He tenses up slightly before asking, "Why?"
"He was just using me to get to Karen."
He tightens his grip around you and nods. "His loss." He mumbles.
You untangle yourself from Matt and regret it instantly, missing his warmth.
"Is it? Karen is way more beautiful than me. I'm so plain." You say, gesturing to your faded jeans, (f/c) t-shirt, and converse.
"Why would you say that? I think you're beautiful." He says.
"Matt," You say softly, "You can't see.."
He grins. "You don't use your eyes to see true beauty."
It was your turn to grin this time. "You're just the Casanova of this century, aren't you?"
He doesn't answer you. He just leans back in his chair and bounces his leg like you had been doing just a few minutes ago. You raise an eyebrow. Is he nervous? You walk over to him and tap his shoulder. He turns his head in your direction, his dark glasses covering the eyes that you only had the chance to see once. His eyes were beautiful.
"What is it?" He whispers when you don't say anything, his voice laced with concern.
You smiled softly. "Scoot your chair out a little."
He furrows his eyebrows in confusion, but complies anyway. You sit down on his lap and wrap your arms around his neck. You curl up to him like a small child would. You hear Matt's heart racing as you lay your head on his chest.
"Your heart's pounding." You mimic him with a sly smile.
He lets out a quiet laugh. "Well, a beautiful woman is sitting on my lap, so of course."
"Matthew Murdock," You say in a teasing voice, "You wouldn't happen to have a crush on me, would you?"
"I'll never tell." He smirks.
You sit up slightly and he wraps his arms around your waist to keep you from falling. His face turns blood red when he feels your breath fanning across his face. You reach up to his glasses and slowly take them off, Matt seeming unsure the entire time. You stare in awe at his vivid hazel eyes. He swallows a lump in his throat as he turns his head toward you, his eyes not completely meeting your gaze.
"Your eyes are beautiful." You blurt out, slapping a hand over your mouth.
He laughs softly and you nuzzle your red face in the crook of his neck. Matt swallows nervously again and you smile. All of a sudden, Matt stands up, holding you in his arms. He gently places you back in the metal chair and pushes it away from him slightly. He puts his glasses back on and you frown. You hear the front door of the law office slam. Fear started building in the pit of your stomach as footsteps approached the room you two were in. How did Matt know? The door swings open and hits the wall, making you flinch. In walks the one and only Foggy Nelson and you immediately frown.
"It's about time!" You yell at him and he gives you a sheepish, yet sarcastic smile.
"Sorry, the time just slipped my mind." He informs coolly, running a hand through his hair.
"Just like everything else, Mr. Attorney-At-Law?"
Matt snorts and Foggy puts his hand on his chest, feigning hurt. "You're on her side?"
"She is right, you know. You brought this on yourself, Foggy." Matt says with a small smile.
Foggy frowns, glaring at you. You just wink and stick your tongue out at him.
"Well, you boys have fun." You say, standing up from the cold chair.
You lean down and place a short, lingering kiss on Matt's lips. You watch as his eyes widen behind his glasses and his face goes red, turning his head in your direction. You sashay past Foggy with a confident air about you. His eyes were wide as well. When you reach for the handle of the front entrance, you hear Foggy's roars of excitement and a loud, 'Oh my god!' You walk out the door and stop right in front of the building.
You touch your mouth in disbelief, remembering every detail of Matt's soft lips, causing you to grin widely. You let out a squeal and make a run for your apartment, your smile never faltering.
