I was looking through Debi's collection of music most seemed to match my tastes : Shakira, Beyonce, Pussycat Dolls, Madonna to name a few. Debi shouted from the kitchen to make myself comfortable at the table as she brought the food through. Salad with a collation of meats and fish. Salad is my favourite and I loved her choice of fish; prawn, salmon and crayfish. We sat across from each other and dug in. I thanked her for going to so much trouble reached across the table and kissed her hand. Debi just looked at me without saying anything, I didn't think she would be nervous but it was obvious she was. To break the ice I said to her
"Debi, I'm really happy to have met you and for their to be a spark between us. I know we will talk about this and I want you to know that I want to be here and be with you, I know the risks and I know how tough it is for you, I will be happy just being your friend if that's what you want".
She began to cry soft tears and said she was moved by my words. That she didn't know what would happen between us but would love to have me as a friend too.
We continued to eat, to laugh and to joke. I got to sample her world famous apple and raspberry crumble with custard and after helping clear the dishes we retired into the living room where Debi put on some soft romantic music, we refilled our glasses and talked about what ifs and what nows.
