Chapter 1

I sped into the parking lot with my Cadillac ELR. I parked into the first open spot I saw, easily fitting my car into the small space. I pushed open the door, getting out of the car, and locking it with a click behind me. I sauntered towards the front doors of the 'Mystic Grill'.

I could feel gazes on me, plentiful of gazes, but ignored them. At this point, I was more than used to having attention drawn to me like this. When you've lived during a time, where makeup wasn't caked to your face, and chemicals weren't used in your hair, most people had their natural beauty. For me it stayed with me, after my human life.

Finally entering the Mystic Grill, I headed straight for the bar, in desperate need of a drink. Just thinking about the luscious goodness down my throat had my mouth watering.

I should just go on a drinking binge today. You know to celebrate the coming to a new town. Then again I move towns every couple of days, what's new about this one?

Maybe this tiny old town could turn out to be more interesting. Just in this very room, I saw a man in his late twenties, doing some paper work. What was interesting about him, was the edge of a wooden stake sticking out of his boot. That very object could kill an off guard vampire. This guy could easily be identified as a hunter.

Next to that man was another man, with raven black hair, and a leather jacket. I couldn't exactly see his face, but from this angle he looked to be in his early twenties, but he was probably a lot older then that considering he was a vampire.

Across the room, sitting in a booth, was a blonde vampire, she was practically jumping in her seat, talking to the tan witch beside her, and another teenage vampire boy in front of her who was sitting next to a human. That human just turned out to be a doppelgänger.

A copy cat of another. I just happened to know the first of the Petrova doppelgängers, from her the lineage started. Of course I also knew one other vampire. The meeting I had with her was not so pleasant. She had both my brothers strung up on her, leading them both on. Of course the fools that my brothers are, they both fell in love with the doppelgänger. Unfortunately my brother needed her human life for something and offered her a vampire life which Katherine refused. Katherine ran away refused to be sacrificed for my second oldest brother. She refused to offer her blood. She instead turned herself into a vampire, and has been running since. My second oldest brother, Klaus, was not strung up on her anymore. In fact he hates her and wants her to suffer. Klaus can keep a grudge, in fact he's been keeping one since the fourteen-hundreds. My oldest brother unfortunately still seems to be in loved with that wretched immortal.

I took a seat two spaces from leather jacketed vampire, smelling the manly perfume he wore to this distance. Then again, it could also be because I have enhanced senses.

Just a couple of moments of me being seated, a blue eyed blonde came to my service.

"Hello." I said as charmingly as possible.

"Hi." He said licking his lips.

I fixed my leather jacket and leaned closer to him putting on my best smile. If I can't compel, I'll charm.

"Can I get a bourbon please?" I asked.

"Uh.." He seemed to be lost for words.

"Please." I asked.

"I-I need an- an.."

"I.D?" I asked with raised eyebrows.

He quickly nodded.
