Chapter 2

Nikki's P.O.V

When I opened the door, I was greeted by a very eager Kyle and a very bored looking Jake.

"Hi guys!"

"Hi Nikkwi!" Kyle said.

"Thomas!" I called "Kyle' here!"

As soon as I said that, I heard Thomas rushing down the stairs. "Hi Kyle!" Thomas exclaimed.

"Hi Thomas!"

"Thomas, why don't you and Kyle go play in your room."

"Ok, come on Kyle lets go!" Thomas said.

"Hi Nerd" I heard Jake say.

With a sigh, I turned around "Hi Jake, would you like to work on the project in my room or the living room?" I asked.

"Ummm...the living room is fine" he said

"Ok" I clapped my hands "Follow me" I led him to the living and took a seat on the floor. "Let's get started!"

"Wait...don't you need your glasses?" He asked.

"Umm...I am wearing contacts?" I said, but it sounded like more of a question.

"Ok then, let's get started"

About an hour later, while we were working chatting, my phone started to ring. When I looked at the caller i.d., it was David. David is my manager and is one of the only people who know that me, Nikki is also Shadow. I excused my self for a moment and answered the phone.

"Hey David" I said.

"Hey Nikki the Shadow" I laugh at the name he gave me "I got you a fight tonight, hey that kinda rhymed, don't you think?"

I laughed again "Yah, yah, it rhymed. What's this about a fight?" I asked

"Oh, well I know that your fighting a guy, I think he's around your age. He might be a newbie"

"Ok, what time is the fight?"

"It is at 7:30."

"Ok. Cool, but I'm going to need to bring Thomas again. Moms outta town, again."

"No problem, me and Thomas are the best of Buds" I laughed at that.

"Ok, well, bye David"

"Bye Nikki the Shadow" I laughed and hung up. Then I walked back into the living room.

Jake's P.O.V

After Nikki went to answer her phone, I started thinking about how she looked. I noticed she didn't have any braces on. I also noticed something that looked like a tattoo, but I wasn't to sure. I could hear some of the things she was saying and could only make out something about a fight.

She came back into the room about a minute later. "Ok, where were we?" Then I noticed her tattoo and decided to confront her.

"Is that a tattoo?" I asked.

She looked panicked because her eyes went wide and also scared. "Um..uh..I-" she seemed like she didn't know what to say, so I grabbed her arm to look at the tattoo. It looked like some sort of symbol or something like that.

"It's cool" I said.

"Umm..thanks"

I let go of her wrist and looked at the time. It was 6:30. I had to go because I have a fight tonight down at "The Arena" against some dude named, Shadow I think.

"Hey, I have to go because I have something to do tonight" I told her.

She looked at the time "Oh, me too" she said "I'll go get Kyle" And then she took off, up the stairs. I wondered where she needed to be, seeing as she had no friends to hang out with.
Kyle came downstairs and we said our goodbye's. Since mom and dad weren't home, I had to take Kyle with me. I stopped at the house to change and texted my friends that I was on my way.

Nikki's P.O.V

After Jake and Kyle left I told Thomas that we were going to "The Arena" and that he would hang out with David, as soon as I told him he got really happy about seeing David.

I went upstairs and put on my boxing clothes. So that no one knows who I am, I have a custom sports bra that has a sweater attached to it. No one knows that I'm a girl because I always cover my face and hair. After I was ready, I grabbed Thomas and headed into my car, which is really expensive. I have so many cool cars, I forget the names of them.

When we got to "The Arena" , I immediately found David.

"Hey David" I said

"Dawid!" Thomas yelled.

"Hey buddy" David greeted Thomas while picking him up "Let's go take a seat, ok."

"Ok" Thomas said.

"Bye guys" I said "Wish me luck" they wished me luck and went off to find a good view of the fight. While I was walking around I saw Jake and his crew. Oh. No. You have got to be kidding me, they can't see me like this. Before I got the chance to put on my hood, Jake spotted me. My eyes widened and he just looked confused. He then started making his way over to me.

"Hey Nikki" he said "What are you doing her?"

"Umm..I..um.." I didn't know what to say.

"Are you here to watch the fights?" He asked.

"Sure?" I said, but it sounded more like a question, " I mean..um..yah, that's why I'm here to watch the fights.."

He looked skeptical, but didn't ask any questions. "Ok" is all he said before walking away.

Whew, that was a close one. I watched the fight that was going on before I heard them call my name, I went into the bathroom and put in my hood, so no one knows it's me. As soon as I walked out and on the arena, there were loud cheers.

Then the announcer said my opponents name "Jake Monroe!" My jaw dropped and my eyes widened. But before anyone could see, I quickly composed my self. Well, let the fight begin, I guess.
