Not your Average Nerd

Chapter 1

"Well, see you at school "Nerdy" Nikki" Jake said from beside me.

"See you Jake" I said before waving goodbye and getting in my car and he did the same 

I finally got to school and I made it just in time. When I walked in, I immediately spotted Abby the "queen bee", I kept my head low in hopes that she wouldn't see me, I got lucky because she didn't. I opened up my locker and took out my books for first period which was Chemistry. When I got to Chemistry I took my seat and waited for class to begin.

Mr.Todd came in and everyone sat down. "Good Morning class!" He said "Today you will be partnered up for a project" Almost immediately, everyone turned to their friends "But you will not be choosing your partners" everyone groaned and some made comments like 'I hope I don't get stuck with the nerd'  and thinks like that. "Okay, your partners are..." I tuned him out till I heard my name "...Nikki Walker and Jake Monroe..." I mentally groaned and  I got a lot of glares from the girls in the class. "Okay, you have 5 more minutes of class. For the rest of class you may sit next to your partners and work on your project."

Everyone moved to sit next to their partners, except me. When Jake realized I wasn't going to move, he sat next to me. "So, how about your house after school?" He asked me.

"Sure" I said.

"Cool, can I have your number so you can text me your address" he asked me.

"Sure" I said, then I wrote my number down on a piece of paper and. Gave it to him.

A couple of seconds later I got a text message from Jake.

"Hi"

I laugh and add him to my contacts. I also send him my address.

School went by fast. I didn't get bullied that much. I picked up Thomas and drive home. I found a note from my mom saying,

"Hi Nikki, I'm going to be out of town and I won't be back for a week, so that's next Monday. Take care of Thomas and make sure you go to school. Love you guys."

His didn't surprise me mom always had to go out of town for work. I think shes been taking more jobs that are out of town since dad died. We all miss him a lot. Thomas was only 2 when he died, so he doesn't really remember him, even though he looks so much like him.

I get a text on my phones me and open it to see its from Jake,

"Hey, do you mind if I bring Kyle with me. Him and Thomas could play while we work"

I don't even think about it, because I know Thomas would love to play with Kyle. So I reply back,

"No problem, you can bring him. Thomas would love to have company"

I almost immediately get a response,

"Great, I'll be there in like ten minutes"

I go up to Thomas' room and tell him that Jake and Kyle are coming over.  After I told him he started jumping with joy and got really excited.

I went to my room and changed, I also took off my glasses and braces. I hope he doesn't notice I do t have my braces and if he asks about my glasses, I'll just say I have contacts. I also hope he doesn't notice my tattoo.  It's my symbol for my street fighter identity.  I usually cover it up in school.

About five minutes later I hear the door bell,

Ding,Dong,Ding,Dong

"Coming!" I scream so they can hear me. Well, let the fun begin, I think to myself
