"will you speak to me, love?"

her eyes had widened, catches the view of her ocean out of her peripheral. and ryker had spoken again, his voice causing a ripple amongst them and her walls to collapse. she'd latched onto cobalt blue, drinking up every last emotion that had crashed in sharp waves.

twisting and turning in her mind, she stayed still, silent, unmoving because it had been too long since she'd said a word. despite ryker being a safe-haven, he was still a man and men terrified her.

she breathed
quick and sharp,
chest constricting as if a knife had shoved its way through.

the olive-toned boy mustn't have noticed, hand coming closer to her with furrowed brows, halting when she'd flinched.

she was attempting to calm,
constantly comparing him to a white rose.
insisting that ryker was different.

"will you -um- could you speak to me?"

she simply shook her head.
