When one asked why Chrome wears that skull-designed eyepatch, they'll most probably be at the tip of Mukuro's trident.
But if you're lucky enough, she will tell you why she wears the eyepatch.
It all started because of a cat she liked crossing the streets. She tried to chase it only to be in an accident which led to some of her organs collapsing and her right eye destroyed.
Abandoned by her parents to die, she gave up hope until her Mukuro-sama saved her by creating illusionary organs. The eyepatch served as a remainder about that incident.
After that little storytelling, you may feel pity at her but Chrome would only say that it was a blessing to her. Because in exchange for her eye and organs, she acquired the thing she wished the most.
To her, it was a fair trade.
