The next morning, I woke up to footsteps behind my bed. The large headboard didn't allow me to see who it was. My heart started pounding. Faster, and faster. I wait for the last second until I jumped! "What are you doing?" Said Nathan.
"Oh. It's you. I thought you were a someone who was going to kill me." I said in shock.
"Na. You're fine. Want some breakfast? I brought some clothes for you too. Freshen up and come downstairs to eat." He said calmly
I did as he said. Got ready and headed downstairs. When I got down, I saw a small table with a few chairs and a small kitchen. Ethan was already there eating cereal. Nathan was just cooking what looked like to be eggs. Ethan takes his glance from his bowl to me. His stare was intense. What did I ever do to him?
"Come and sit." Said Nathan taking me out of the trance.
I sat in front of Ethan. Nathan brought a plate of pancakes in front of me.
"You look nice in the clothes. Have some breakfast and we'll start on you training." Said Nathan cheerfully.
I would eat if it wasn't for Mr. Crude right in front of me. I sucked it up and ate anyway.
"You eat so much." Said Ethan arrogantly
"I don't need you're opinion on my appetite." I said snapping at him
"Ok. Claire, you're done right? Let's go train." Said Nathan. I couldn't do anything but agree with him. I had to get away from Ethan and his harshness.
We go back to the place where me and Ethan were yesterday.
"Try to move this pebble." Said Nathan.
I tried to. But it didn't work. I tried a few times but nothing worked. Nathan noticed that. He came up to me, but I didn't feel nervous. I felt almost.....safe.
He looked in my eyes and said, "Focus. Imagine the pebble is floating. Controlling your mind and body is the only way you will learn such abilities."
His words reassure me. I tried one last time and I didn't levitate the pebble, but it moved a bit. The day went on like that. Training, and training, and training. By the end of the day, I could move anything I wanted, however high I wanted. The day however was fading. The night was creeping, and we called it quits for the day.
"You did good today. You're probably starving. Let's eat dinner." He said in a tired voice.
I couldn't agree with him more. My stomach was in the verge of containing cobwebs. As we walked downstairs, the small table was full of food, bought food. I didn't say anything but just ate.
"If you say I eat too much one more time today."I growled at Ethan sitting across from me again
"You eat like a pig." Ethan said under his breath
"ECXUSE ME!" I grumbled "I don't eat like a pig! I eat like a normal person."
"A normal person doesn't stuff their face with noodles." He said amusingly
"Ok. You two be quiet. Ethan, mind your own business and eat your food. Claire, no yelling at the table. You two are like little kids." He said while laughing
We all ate and talked until we were all full. After, we just went to sleep. I couldn't help but think how different the two brothers were. Ethan is the strict one, but when he was making fun of me, he seemed actually happy. Nathan on the other hand is calm and collected. He's helpful and full of life. I just hope this thing passes by soon.
