"Alyssa no."
"Please! If it really doesn't look good which I doubt then we'll find something else. I promise." She smiles.
I sigh before letting out a fine, causing her to squeal and push me towards the bathroom. I enter the cream tiled room and look in the mirror. My hair was tied up in a messy bun and I looked super pale.My under eyes were slightly red and puffy and my rose colored lips were a little swollen and cracked. I held the dress up over my clothes, pressing it against my body.
Perhaps it would look nice on my body but my face would ruin the whole image. I quickly took off my top and shook off my sweatpants, mentally thanking myself for showering before Alyssa came over. I turned around, my back facing the mirror so I didn't have to look at the scars on my body.
I slid the dress over myself and pulled my arms through the sleeves. The lace was thicker than I expected and covered more than I thought it would. The dress ended at an appropriate length, a little bit above my knee. It did fit the least bit tight but it wasn't too bothersome. I turned around to look in the mirror.
My mouth dropped slightly at the sight in front of me. The neckline of the dress was a little revealing, but it didn't look too bad. My breasts weren't all that large, they were average so nothing threatened to spill out of the dress. The material hugged my hips and felt almost like a second skin.
A giggle escapes from my mouth as I admire the dress on me. Suddenly a few knocks came from the other side of the door.
"I want to see!" Alyssa exclaimed.
The look of astonishment on my face quickly disappears as I remember where I am and reluctantly I walk over to the door and unlock it. Alyssa pulls it open and smiles widely when she sees me.
"I knew you would look hot! See, you had nothing to worry about!"
A smile slowly creeps back onto my lips and I glance over her appearance. She had put on her outfit and let her dark hair out of it's previous ponytail.
"C'mon, we have some more work to do." She smirks.
The next hour is spent on her applying some mascara and concealer along with a little bit of lipstick on me. She also curls her hair and offers the straighten mine. By the time she's done and I look in the mirror pure shock runs through me. I didn't even look like myself.
My hair was no where near it's usual frizziness and the curls that appeared at my ends were gone. It looked so much longer and shiner. The mascara made my eyes look bigger and the concealer disguised my tiredness. My lips weren't totally red, but more so slightly tinted red.
The girl in the mirror wasn't Grace. She was so much prettier and looked like she had not one flaw. It didn't seem real at all. I looked over to see Alyssa doing some final touches on her makeup, which was similar to mine except she added some winged eyeliner on herself.
She let me borrow a pair of heels which weren't that high, thankfully. The closer I was to the ground the lower my chance was of falling over in these.
"So, we'll try to back before one and if we get separated just call me okay?" Alyssa says smiling at our appearances in the mirror.
My heart jumps when I hear her say separated.
"What? Separated?" I ask, my voice becoming slightly panicky.
"Don't worry, I doubt if we do that it'll be hard to find me." She reassures me.
I tucked some hair behind my ears before Alyssa sprays some perfume on me. It smells sweet and highly like vanilla. She walks over to her window and checks to see and if Finn's car is gone before she clicks her tongue.
