What started as a simple trip ended up so much more.
I found myself in Ol' Williamsburg believing in something so much bigger than me.
I wandered the streets of long ago wondering who else walked upon these very stones.
Presidents, Kings, simple minded men.
All of these so remarkable to me.

The buildings breathed antiquity.
The sky shown no mercy on the unknowing eyes.
The beauty was breathtaking in the October morning.
The history poured from every nook and cranny.

Lust filled my eyes as love filled my heart.
A palace rose beyond a church and garden.
I felt the connection deep within my bones.
I nearly wept at the overwhelming sensations.

Leaving Ol' Williamsburg was the hardest.
Saying goodbye to the rustic scenery that was surrounded by so much modernity.
Feeling bits of my soul ripped from me
to stay tethered to the place that I love.
I long for the day I get to return to her beauty.
