Chapter 17 - Change

Start from the beginning

I gasped as he played the first thirty seconds of the song by ear. It sounded even better than the original, how the hell is he so talented?! "It's quite repetitive, so it's easy to catch on to. Come, I'll teach you it."

I went back to the spot and put my fingers back on the keyboard. "I'll play in a different key, so it seems like you can almost play with both hands, but you're hesitant..."

Thirty minutes later, Yejun was aggravated and I didn't learn shit. "Yejun I'm so sorry!" I exclaimed, "It's just that, you know!"

"Aish this girl." He muttered in annoyance, "How can you not get this right?! I'm literally playing for you!"

"Because I'm not some fucking prodigy okay?! You get on my neves sometimes!"

"Prodigy or not, it's easy! This song is easy! How could you not get this Len?!" He began to mutter stuff in Korean and I got off of the bed.

"What did you say in Korean? Hm?" He glared at me as I folded my arms. "Mi seh wha did yuh just say inna Korean?!" Yejun stared at me with a blank face as I sarcastically laughed, "Dutty bway, yuh know seh yuh nah di only one who can cuss badword?! Mi will shame you, eediat."

Silence engulfed the whole room. He still stared at me with that same blank face, and it was starting to get me tight. "Len..." He muttered, "I like your accent."

All of a sudden, a giant grin broke my glare. I looked away as he laughed. "Talk like that again!" He kept on laughing and got off of the bed. "Len! Just one more time, please?"

I smirked and looked back at him. I can probably get back at him. "Wanna learn a phrase?" He eagerly nodded and stood in front of me.

"Okay, say this: Mi love battyman." I could barely get the last word out before I was choking on my laugh. He patted my back and I composed myself. "It means I love good people."

"Okay!" He said with determination. "Mi... loveu... baety... man?"

His accent was so adorable! I'm getting so used to it, I only notice it when he's sounding out a word. Smiling, I patted his shoulder. "Your pronunciation needs work, but good job."

Yejun kept on saying it and I was in tears. We finally continued on with the game. "My turn! Who was your first crush?" My first crush? Oh... "Some guy in elementary school, I think everyone knew I liked him but he only saw me as a friend. We would play video games together and stuff."

"You really like video games hm?" I nodded. "My brothers and I would always play together, I guess that contributes to why I'm so..." Poking my stomach, I continued, "Fat."

So he's slowly inching his way to personal questions. Time to violate. Before he could respond, I went ahead. "Alright, who was your first girlfriend?"

Yejun instantly tensed and rolled his eyes. "Chi Jiyoon, I honestly dated her because she was pretty." I was surprised at the pang I felt. She's an ex, why do I feel like this? "She was one of the popular girls, but she had a crush on me since middle school. Since we ended up going to the same high school, she confessed to me. We dated for two years and I broke up with her."

He broke up with her? "Your facial expression is enough. I broke up with her because she was a bitch. She liked to boss people around, and I had enough of that from my father. One day, she wanted me to get on my knees and apologize for being late. I usually picked her up so we could walk to school together... I laughed in her face and ended it, she was crazy. Didn't see her in school for a week after."

I noticed how when he would talk about memories, he would slightly look off to the side. His eyes seemed glazed, almost as if he was reliving the memory. "Okay." He said as he looked back at me, "W-"
