We finished in a half and hour after our routines turn out perfectly. As we had two hours until we had to be at the theater, we watched a The Lovely Bones on Kayden's computer. I thought that Saoirse Ronan was brilliant, I felt her performance was so real and that she stepped into Susie's shoes. I think she tied those shoe laces very tightly.
I loved Susan Sarandon as well, espically in the only comedic scene in the whole film. She played the Grandmother and took over the house with wacky results.
As we make our way to the theatre after watching the movie, we spend five minutes discussing different aspects of the film that normal people wouldn't talk about. We talk more of the performances, the musical score, the cinematography and even the special effects. Afterwards , I decide to extend the film conversation.
"What's your favorite movie"? I decide to ask.
"God, how could you ask such a difficult question?!" Kayden says, smiling with his great smile.
"You can say more than one, I can't say only one!"
"Well, what are your favorites then "?
"I asked first!"
"I think my list will been seventeen pages long!" Kayden stalls.
"I don't care, I want to hear".
As Kayden walks and thinks , I look at his hand. I look at the side of his body which is my view of him now, he must be 5ft 8, quite tall for a boy of fourteen. I carry on looking at his hand, my right eye looks at his floppy brown hair. I decide what I have to do to let him know that I like him.
I take his hand and put it into mine. He stops in his tracks, causing me to stop as well, I don't let go of his hand. He looks at me, with pure eye contact.
"If you want me to let go, I will". I tell him, hoping that I don't get emotional like in all of those annoying rom-coms.
He looks at his hand that is seated in my mine, he then looks up at me.
"No need to let go". He whispers.
I smile, feel a part of me dying of excitement and resume walking.
"So, what are your favorite movies"? I repeat.
"I'll give you five". Kayden begins.
"Okay, go". I remind him.
"The Unusaul Suspects; Casablanca; The Breakfast Club; When Harry met Sally; Forrest Gump;Shawshanks Redemption; The Shining;Rocky; Fargo; Girl, Interrupted ; The Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind and Little Miss Sunshine".
"I'm happy you went over five". I admit after he finishes.
"Why"?
"So I can learn more about you".
He releases a quiet laugh.
"Your turn".
I sigh.
"Okay, Moonrise Kingdom; Me and Earl and The Dying Girl; Perks Of Being A Wallflower; Never Let Me Go; Juno, An Education; Girl, Interrupted ; Annie Hall and Room. I saw Room about a week ago,I want you to go see it".
"Wasn't there a book as well"?
"Yeah, I read it, damn brilliant".
"Well, I like your selection". He says.
"I like yours too".
We walk in silence , our hands still joined.
Once we reached the theatre, Kayden and I released hands. The run through went well and Mark said he would show us vocal exercises tonight .
It is night, 6:37 PM to be precise. The show starts in an hour and we're starting to copy Mark's movements as he shows us the vocal exercises. Violet is a little anxious and listening to My Chemical Romance to release the anxious bugs out of her system. I listen to my normal playlist as I'm bored and want the show to start.
If you're wondering how I got out of the house with my mother on my case the whole time, then here it is:
Well, Mom only got out of bed an hour ago and used her energy to make coffee.
"Mom"? I said once I caught her in the kitchen.
"What"? She grunted.
"Can I go to the football game tonight"? I asked.
The whole cast had used the same excuse with their parents, using six thousand excuses would cause suspicion upon the parents if they decided to talk about our whereabouts. Mom gave me a look of suspicion, her face all dopey and full of exhaustion .
"Since when do you like football"?
"Mom, high school changes your point of view on sports".
"Ah-ha, who are you going with"?
"My friends".
"You have many friends, Keoria".
"I really don't".
"Keoria, please".
"Violet, Winona, Quinn, Jayden, Emma, Maia and Kayden".
"Who's Kayden"?
"I've told you about him".
"Him? What sort of person names their son Kayden"?
"I like it".
"Well, I know your brother is going . It's safe, a high school function. Sure, have a nice time, don't look for a husband that burns turkeys and pushes you over the edge and don't die". She groaned.
I hugged and thanked her, I then went with Chris to go fetch Violet, Winona and Kayden. We took the bus as it is becoming freezing at night, it's expected to start snowing tomorrow.
