Chapter 1

The door bell rang loudly within brightly lit bakery as a casually dressed teenage girl stepped in. Adela Moretz. A nightmare dressed in a day dream. With her brown hair tied in a bun, leather jacket, white shirt, boyfriend ripped jeans and classic black and white sneakers. If she wanted to nail a look, she would have perfected the basic white girl look. An undercover agent and assassin? They would have never expected what was going to come to them in that moment. After all, the element of surprise was her best weapon.

A kindly-looking bearded man stepped out and greeted her warmly.

"Welcome to Four Loaves Miss, what would you like?"

She pondered a bit, staring at the various beautifully decorated cakes displayed.

Strawberry shortcake. Tiramisu. Black forest. Double chocolate.

"Give me the black forest cake on the top right of the shelve, and 16 candles and a stick that says happy birthday to go with it. "

"Right away miss, who is this special cake for?"

Without missing a beat, she replied calmly. "Well it's my grandmother's birthday today."

"Ah, so she is 61 years old?"

It was actually supposed to be for her 16th birthday, but she will just play along with it.

"Yup. Better make that quick, my family is waiting for me to come back home with the cake." She beamed at him.

"Okay let me get the box and candles." He scurried into the kitchen.

All clear. She strolled to the door and turned the knob to lock the door, and flipped the 'open' sign to the 'closed' sign. Reaching into her well-worn backpack, she took out her gun, and aimed it at the door to the kitchen where he would come out in a matter of seconds.

The man stepped out with the well wrapped cake box. "Here is your cake Miss. WOAHHH."

"Don't drop it. Put the cake on the counter, and then put your hands up where I can see them."

He quickly placed it on the counter and put his hands up.

"Look miss, you want cash? I will give you cash."

"No, I want the records. I know you have them in here. You have been supplying drugs to customers by stashing it in the bread you bake. I want every customer name and transaction you have."

"What? Drugs? No such thing. I run a honest business here. He gave a uncomfortable laugh."

She saw through his disguise immediately. If he had to act his way out in order to live, he would definitely die first. After all, reading body language was one of her talents. She saw his hand slowly move down to grab something below the counter. He was going to throw something at her. A glistening object quickly flew past above her head just as she ducked down. The knife hit the shelve behind her and clattered harmlessly onto the floor.

She quickly got up and smoothened her clothes. Amateur. She smiled as she watched him frantically run into the kitchen to try to escape by the back door.

"ARGGH! Open you damn door." He kicked and threw his whole weight against the door. He was a rather large man, probably weighing around 190 pounds. He had brawn, but no brain to match it. Sweat was dripping down profusely from his forehead as she slowly walked into the kitchen and closed the door shut behind her.

"I won't bother if I were you. I knew you will try to escape so I already barricaded the back door before that."

He sighed and turned his back towards her. "Please don't kill me. I have a family with 4 children to support."

"Yes yes I know you do. In fact, I have my people currently at your family's house right now. They're ready to kill if they need to. Do what I say or you will never see your family again." She smirked as she saw the horror and fear flashed across his crazed eyes. She didn't actually have any agents down at his family's house to hold them hostage, but clearly family was one of his weaknesses. And if there was a weakness, she would use it to her full advantage.

"Okay fine. I will give you everything you need. Just don't hurt my family please."

"Fine with me. Go. Now." She pointed her gun at him as he quickly moved across the kitchen and into another small room that held his office. He bent down and quickly pressed the numbers to open the safe. 1234. "Wow... Really? They hired a goon to protect such important documents?!" She thought incredulously. She almost wanted to laugh out loud.

He took out a manila folder that was crammed with many sheets of paper from the safe. He walked slowly towards her. This are all the records I have, every customer transaction with all their details inside.

She stretched out her left arm to take it, but he held it back behind his back. "Wait. Before i give it to you, promise me you won't hurt my family."

"Yeah Yeah." She snatched the manila envelope from him and briefly flipped through the contents in the folder. Hundreds of customer names, phone numbers, addresses and the amount of purchases flashed in her eyes. This were huge numbers indeed. It was thousands of dollars in and out here.

She closed the folder with a snap.

"Did you get what you need?" The man looked at her worriedly.

"Yes, and thank you. We are done here." She pulled out the tranquilliser gun from her bag and shot him in the chest. The beefcake immediately collapsed onto the floor and struggled around for a bit before laying completely still. That should do the trick. When he wakes up, he will probably be en route to prison.

She quickly went to the computer inside the small office and altered the security footage. All traces of her will be completely erased. Tonight's incident between her and the man will have never happened. Nobody would know she was here. Not even the other agents who will come in later on. Her identity must be kept a secret. Even from people within the force. She picked up the cake box that was still lying on the counter, and put the knife back below the counter. Mm she smiled. Black forest, her favourite. She quickly unlocked the front door and walked out into the cooling night. Checking that the coast was clear, she whispered into her earpiece.

"Coming in. Mission 34. Success."

"Good job Agent 838. Agents will be deployed to arrest the man and clean up the scene. I will send Agent 544 over to your apartment tomorrow to collect the documents from you."

"Okay. Over and out."
