I lay in the bed, tugging at the covers. The healers had been trying to help me as much as they could, but nothing was working.

Alex was becoming impatient. Was becoming hateful. Ignored everyone and yelled at everyone except for me.

Me.. I was the reason he was neglecting his pack. Me. I was the reason they didn't have someone to look up to.

I glanced up at Alex, being careful not to open any wounds. "Your pack needs you," I spoke quietly.

"I need you safe and alive though," Alex lowered his gaze. I could tell this was hard. Such a powerful alpha letting these emotions consume him.

"Please help them. They need you to lead them," I pushed again and hoped he would leave. Sure, my wolf and I loved having him there, but I needed a little break.

I needed some alone time.
-
I yawned, and looked around a bit. It had been a couple days since I had seen Alex. I had missed him, but was thankful for the peace.

I had started to heal, so within the hour I would be able to go back to doing whatever a girl like me does.

I continued to lie in bed, waiting for a moment to take its unexpected turn. That's all that happens in this pack. They normally don't die, but they can be wounded.

This was a dangerous pack. My pack knew that best of all. I guess that's why I tried to run.

I don't like being in a pack. I can fend for myself. I can fight.. What am I saying? I would never leave.

My wolf found her mate, and I'm not one to reject on instant.

That's better. Liza smiled and I rolled my eyes. You know you love him, too!
'I don't love him.. Not yet..' I thought to myself, and growled a bit as I smelt an unfamiliar scent pass by the room.

That wasn't a pack member.. I wondered who had gotten in. It's just your mind playing tricks. It's gotta be someone from the pack.

I sat up, and swung my legs over, my feet landing on the soft carpeted floor. I groaned quietly, and stood up, closing my eyes.

My head felt heavy and I took one dizzy step forward. I then took each step slow to the door.

I carefully opened it, my senses alert. My wolf was on edge, and was pacing around anxiously.

'This doesn't feel right..' I thought to myself.  I looked over my shoulder, the wolf was looking right at me. My heart stopped beating and I gasped quietly.

I took a step back into the room and slammed the door shut, locking it as I leaned against it. I heard lots of yelling and running. Then silence.

Someone was banging on the door. "Go away!" I yelped.

"Aliyah, open the door." Alex's words were soft, yet some annoyed. Annoyed? With me?

"Why?" I murmured and put my hand on the door handle.

"Because I will break the door if you don't." He growled a bit. I slipped the door unlocked and stepped back.

He opened the door and took one glance at me before scooping me up and setting me on the bed before I could even say anything.

"You shouldn't be out of bed," he frowned and watched me. I pulled the covers over me and frowned.

"I can get out. I don't want to keep laying here..." I paused, "who was out there?"

Alex growled, "a rogue that my guards didn't know slipped in the house." "Stay in here. For now, at least."

I growled annoyed and rolled over so I wasn't facing him. "Go away."
