Yesterday was a very hectic day to say the least. After waking up we called up the authorities and I convinced my mom to get a restraining order while we were at it.

An anonymous tip to the officials about the drug dealing going on in the company didn't seem like a bad idea. With the assault and domestic abuse charges already against him, he was going to be put away for a long time and somehow that idea made me happy even though it shouldn't have.

With all these charges against him, Nimitz was going to need a new Head soon and I already knew who it was going to be. She totally deserved it. And she knew the company better than anybody else. Sure she didn't have the fancy degrees but she knew a lot more about business than she let on.

The minute I told my mom about my decision she was in shock and said she wouldn't be able to do it but I knew she would get around to it. I convinced her saying it was only till I was minor.
She didn't need to know that I was lying about that little part.  I was planning on making the change a lot more permanent.  But it would be better not to scare her right now.

Funnily enough my mom did get around to giving me that lecture about my language. Suffice to say that I was going to think twice before cursing in front of her now.

"Hey." Caroline skipped up to me with Damon, both of them sporting silly grins on their faces. I didn't even want to know the reason to that.

"Hi."

"Is that makeup you are wearing? What happened to your cheek?" Caroline exclaimed and that was enough to get Damon all worked up.

"What happened, Aria? Who did this to you?" He was fuming.

"Long story short, dad had come home yesterday and now he isn't going to be coming anywhere near us anytime soon."

"He did this to you?" He spat in anger.

"It's okay, Damon. I am fine now. All is good now." I put on a smile I wasn't really feeling and hoped he wouldn't see through it.

"How's Sarah doing?"

"She is holding up."

"I'll come by today after school. Let me know if you need anything okay?" He gave me a pointed look and I nodded.

"Hey, Aria! How are you? I heard your dad was back in town." Reese came out of nowhere.

"Yeah. I am good-"

"What happened to your cheek?"

"Long story." I totally wasn't in the mood to repeat myself. I saw Damon and Reese sharing a look just as the bell rang. Saved by the bell, I thought as I quickly waved a goodbye and went to my class.

I could feel two very blue drilling a hole at the back of my head but tried my level best to not turn around. It wouldn't do either of us any good.

Sean was doing good now. He didn't come up to me or try talking to me these days even though that didn't stop him from staring at me. Having him in most of my classes didn't help either.

Most of the times I just avoided his stares but on the rare occasions that our eyes did meet it was near impossible to tear away from his intense gaze. Those were the times when I felt the most guilty.

School was monotonous that day to say the least so I was more than happy when it ended. As I walked out of the building I saw Sean coming towards me. I tried to duck my head and pass him by but he held my hand and stopped me.

"Are you alright?" His voice was laced with concern.

"I am fine." If only that were true.

"Who did that to you?" He pointed at my cheek and I internally groaned. I thought the main purpose of a concealer was to hide things. Apparently this one hadn't worked or maybe I didn't know how to use it.
