Chapter 47- Graduation

Start from the beginning

Our moms and sisters thanked us as they tuned in to watch the season finale of Scandal.

"Hey best friend." Harold sat on my lap.

"Come on, you bitch ass nigga. Get off me." I pushed him.

"You is you talking to?" He asked me. We do this all day.

"I'm talking to my side bitch best friend." I smirked.

"Oh! I am not the sideline! Isis and Alexa are the sidelines. I'm the main best friend." Harold defended. Everyone was cracking up.

"We've best friends since...how did we become friends?" I asked. "I remember how Alexa and I and Isis and I became friends, but not you. That's makes you a--"

"Sideline." Isis, Jari, Brittany, Juno, Vickie, Yulissa, and Alexa-- at the next table-- said.

"But who always talks to you?" Harold asked.

"After my boyfriend it's Isis and Alexa. Then Brittany and Jari and Juno." I smirked.

"You just gonna play me like that?" Harold pouted.

"Aww. Come here, best friend." I pulled him into a hug.

"It's okay. It's okay to be a sideline, as long as you're not me. Cuz I'm not a sideline." I laughed. He pulled away from me.

"If I'm your sideline than Mikale is my best friend." Harold said.

"I could never be a sideline. Artemis Zoey Williams could never be a sideline, sweetie." I said. "I'm not Prince's sideline and I'm not your sideline best friend."

"Prince couldn't have a sideline if he wanted. You're crazy-- you'd kill the girl!" Harold laughed. I just shrugged as everyone laughed.

"How about this, Isis and Alexa are my besties and you're my best friend?" I offered as I took some of Prince's drink. He rolled his eyes at me as he took my fries.

"Okay." Harold kissed my cheek.

"Eww!" I squealed and pushed him back.

"Dude. Could you not." Prince told Harold.

"Ooh! He jelly." Jawan and Jacob said together.

"Shut up, instigators." Bella said. Horus came over by us since he didn't want to sit by his mom and family anymore.

"Russy." I smiled. "Harold, even Russy comes before you. He was a my guy best friend before you."

"Hey Missy." Horus rolled his eyes as Harold glared at me. "I oughta beat you up for almost making me cry. Almost."

"Nigga, you was boo hooing worse than Mr. Walter." Isis said and we all laughed.

"Who recorded my speech?" I asked.

"I did. I got it on my iPad." Jawan said. He handed me the iPad and I played the video of my speech.

"Eww. I hate hearing my voice on recording." I groaned when the video finished. I gave Jawan his iPad.

"But you recording a song." All of my friends said.

"But my voice sounds different when I'm singing. When I'm singing my voice ain't the same. Oooh yeah." I sang.

"Okay. Okay. I'll give you that. You do sound different when you're singing or rapping." Horus said.

"Yeah. I just can't believe we graduated. It feels like just yesterday, Isis and I were in fifth grade and Bri in sixth and we formed out little group then Jari came to Behrman the next year. Now it's over." I sighed.

"It's only middle school." Roc said.

"A middle school where I first got to meet Mindless Behavior in person. A middle school where I spent Valentine's Day with my boyfriend. A middle school where it was like another home." I said.

"Artemis has a point. Maybe since we haven't been in school for so long we can't really miss middle school. I hated middle school." Prince said.

"We know Prince." We said.

"Yeah. Behrman was were Unique Royalty formed. If it wasn't for drama class, vocal music, or band we wouldn't be here today. Isn't that crazy?" Isis smiled. We sniffed slightly.

"Shit. Don't cry." Diggy said.

"I am not going to cry. I cried already." I said as I blinked my eyes.

"Whoa. There's something different here." Harold said as he looked at my face. "You have green contacts."

"What?" Prince asked and turned me to face him. "Whoa. You have green contacts. That's cute."

"Thank you." I smiled.

"Medusa! Don't look into her eyes or you'll be turned to stone." Roc said and all the boys, but Prince looked away.

"I'll take my chances." Prince smiled.

"It is time for a Keek." Isis shook her head and opened her phone.

"Hey Keek. I'm here with Prince, Ray, Roc, Prod, Behlen, Diggy, Jacob, Jawan, and Twist. Along with my girls, brother, and Princess's second best guy friend." Isis said to her phone then showed the rest of us.

"Hey Keek! Guess what? We graduated!" Jari said.

"Whoo hoo!" We cheered.

"Princess was valedictorian. Alexa over there was salutatorian. I was undergraduate number one. Horus was number seven. And we graduated! Ahh!" Issi shook her phone. We laughed as we made a few more Keek videos on Isis's phone.

"We have to go soon." Ray said.

"Of course." Brittany sighed. We rolled our eyes.

"Don't be like that. We came, but we have to go. Don't worry we'll back soon to come get you." Roc said.

"Is it always this depressing when they come and go?" Harold asked Horus.

"I don't know. I don't pay attention to them. I gotta worry about my own girl. Ya heard me?" Horus said and dapped Harold.

"We'll see y'all soon, class of 2013." Twist said and we smiled and hugged them. They went to our parents and gave them the money for everyone's meal. We took one last picture together-- MB, Diggy, Twist, Jacob, Bella, the girls, and all of the graduates there. We had one of the servers take the picture on my phone and I sent it to everyone.

"They are such cool dudes and girl. I didn't think they'd be so..." Kyrun trailed off.

"So normal?" Alexa supplied.

"Yeah. So normal." Kyrun nodded.

"Artemis. Juno. We're leaving." Wendy said.

"Bye guys. See y'all tomorrow. We are gonna turn up for that building. We might get put out." I smiled as we all hugged each other. We took a picture together-- just the graduates-- before we all left to go home.
