Zak looked at Mel, stuffing his hands into his pockets, "I was going to wait to say this out to the public but...we've decided to retire from ghost hunting."
She express a long face. "Oh my gosh really?"
"Yeah. We figured that it was time to slow down since the older kids are going off to college. And I don't want Taylor spending most of her time at my mom's house while we're out. We'll miss out on most of her childhood."
"We might do it again some day if we want to be spontaneous, but other than that it's too much going on. We want to focus our attention on our kids first before anything."
"Aw, you guys." She cooed. "I completely understand. Your children comes first before anything. I'm going to miss watching you guys so much."
She gave both of us a hug, which made us smile. "I'm so glad that you were a fan of ours for so long." Zak said.
"And I'm still am." She grinned. "When are you guys leaving?"
Zak looked at the time on his watch and groaned. "Oh man. We have to be there in five minutes and it's a ten minute drive to get to the office."
"Why does he have to have a time limit for us to get there?" I questioned in annoyance.
"I asked him that and he wouldn't tell me." He gave Mel the house keys. "Remember; Gracie's appointment is next week on-"
"The seventh." She said, smiling. "I have it under control. You guys enjoy yourselves. You definitely need it."
"Thanks, Mel." I said. "We'll call when we get there."
We said our goodbyes before she left with Gracie. I headed back upstairs to make sure I didn't forget anything before grabbing my purse and heading out. I walked downstairs to the security system by the door, putting in the code and yelling, "Everybody has to be out of this house in ten seconds! Get to steppin'!"
I heard Zak chuckling from behind me, making me turn around. "What are you laughing at?"
"Babe, everyone is in the car. I'm waiting for you."
I rolled my eyes and finished putting in the code. Why did Zak have to make up a long a*s code for this? I have no clue. We headed out the door and Zak helped me into his Black Hummer H2 before he got in.
"Do you guys have everything?" I asked as I put on my seat belt.
"Yes." They mumbled simultaneously as they were on their phones.
"How about you babe?" I asked Zak as he was putting on his seat belt.
"Yesth!" He said in lisp, turning on the truck and backing out of our large garage. "We have so much vehicles it's ridiculous."
"Right?" I chuckled. My phone began to ring in my purse. I pulled it out to see Jesyca calling. I quickly answered. "Hey! We're almost there. We were waiting for Mel to get to the house."
Letting out a sigh, she replied, "I hope y'all are like around-the-corner almost here! Nick is about to pull off without y'all."
"The hell he is! Let me speak to him."
"Alright." I waited until I heard his voice come through the phone, saying, "Are you guys coming or what? I'm not going to sit here all day waiting for you."
"Nick you ain't a d*mn bus driver! We're not going on a d*mn field trip! You need to pump your breaks and chill the hell out! You got a nerve to tell somebody to hurry up when your a*s taking your time to walk down the hallway at the prison in Missouri when Zak's stomach was hurting! You can wait another five minutes! Bye!" I ended the call and put it back in my purse. I noticed the truck was filled with laughter. I shook my head then lean on my elbow.
