Prince and I talked to everyone at the party.

"I would like to see these favorite prom pictures." Brandi, my eldest sister, said as most of everyone was outside.

Prince, Prod, Ray, Roc, Brittany, Isis, Juno, Jari, and I pulled out our phones. Everyone passed around our phones.

"Aw! You all were so cute!" Everyone was saying.

We got our phones back as the conversation turned to graduations. I went inside to get my valedictorian meddle.

"Wow. It's heavy." Kayla said as she picked it up. She passed it around to everyone.

"I have to do a five to seven minute speech." I said.

"Are you excited or nervous?" Teresa asked.

"Both. I mean, that auditorium will be packed to capacity. And everyone will be excited and upset. But I'm gonna make everyone cry." I said.

"I'm gonna cry." Wendy said.

"Okay, everyone but Mama will cry." I smiled. "Kayla, when do you find out who's val and sal?"

"Soon I hope. I really need to know for Xavier." Kayla sighed.

"And where are you graduating from?" Miss Tisha asked Kayla.

"She's graduating from Phoenix High in Plaqumines Parish then attending Xavier University for Pharmacy." Shawn said.

"Wow. Congraduations. You're daughters are all smart and beautiful. I see it's something that runs in the family." Miss Justine smiled.

"Thank you." My grandmother, who we all call, Maw Maw, said. That started all of the adults to talk about other people. The rest of us stood in the driveway and goofed around.

"No, Kayla. You gotta roll your neck and arms like this." Prod told Kayla as he tried ro teach her the choreography for Future. Juno and I danced to Future in front of her to mess with her.

"Jerks." Kayla laughed. "Thanks Prodigy, but dancing is so not my thing."

"It just takes some time. Artty didn't know how to dance, but now look at her. She's a better dancer than Prod and Prince." Juno laughed.

"Aye!" Prod and Prince said as we all laughed.

Jacob's iPod shuffled and stopped on his song Nothing On Me.

Jari, Babydoll, and I started dancing and singing.

We rolled our eyes at Prod, Ray, Roc, Prince, and Jacob as Brittany and Isis joined us.

"They wanna battle us." Roc said.

"Fine. But you ain't got nothing on me." Jacob sang. We rolled our eyes and got in a huddle.

"We get the first verse and chorus. They got the second one and the bridge. Then when the part where he doesn't the thing you can't keep up. I'm gonna get Jacob then." I whispered. They nodded and we looked over our shoulders to see the boys huddled together.

"Y'all ready or are you plotting a way to cheat your way through? Either way, you'll lose." Jacob taunted.

"Man, we ain't afraid." Isis scoffed.

"Let's get started then." Roc smirked.

"Ladies first. Come on Juno." Jari snapped her fingers.

We all took sides in the driveway so everyone sitting under the car port could see. The girls and I danced to the first verse and chorus then we were pushed back by the boys as they danced to the second verse and chorus then the bridge. As soon as Jacob started and dancing to the bridge, the girls pulled me from their view. As Jacob sang "Or you'll fine out the hard way", the girls threw me as I started dancing the hardest I ever danced.
