Why? (Destiel Highschool/College/Coffee Shop AU)

Chapter 4

Dean's P.O.V. 

i had a long day at school and i decided to pay a visit to the coffee shop

i have to pick sam up a little later

so i can't stay there long

but it's fine

i heard the new person is coming today

jo told me last night

i walk in and hear the familiar ring of the door 

i don't look up right away until i hear jo 

"hey dean!"   she says

 i look up at her and smile 

my smile widens a little bit when i see the new guy 

hes a good-looking guy

hes got black hair, pretty tan skin and really bright blue eyes 

they seem familiar 

but i push those thoughts away as i realize i don't want to stare

i walk up to the counter

"this the new guy jo?" i ask smiling at jo

"yeah, dean, this is castiel" 

castiel? sounds REALLY familiar 

oh well...

i look at him

he looks like he is about to throw up

is he ok?

"hey buddy, you ok?" i ask him

he nods his head frantically 

jo looks at him then at me 

"he doesn't talk much" she says smiling at him

i nod my head at him a little hesitantly

"want the usual?"  jo asks me 

"yes please" i tell her smiling at her big 

she rolls her eyes and motions me to go sit down 

i do and immediately day-dream

why does that boy seem so familiar

i SWEAR  i know him from somewhere

but where?? 

Castiel's P.O.V. 

 OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD!!!

what do i do? WHAT DO I DO?!?!?!

ok castiel stay calm stay calm 

"hey buddy, you ok?" he ask me 

Buddy?? BUDDY??!!?! HE USED TO CALL ME THAT WHEN WE WERE KIDS

does he not remember me? 

i nod my head frantically

while he goes and takes a seat 

jo turns to me with a confused look on her face 

"castiel? what's wrong? are you going to act like this with all of the customers?" 

i shake my head at her

"no...i'm sorry jo, i just got...nervous...because it's my first customer, you know?"  i tell her

she smiles and shakes her head

"well you better get used to dean winchester, hes a regular, i have known him sine freshman year, been a family friend for a long time" 

i nod my head and look down at my feet shamefully

"ok, now make this order for dean, and please make sure you apologize, ok?" 

i nod my head "ok jo" 

i make the order and walk over to dean 

my heart beating so hard i was afraid he could hear it

as soon as he sees me he smiles

and i almost faint right there and then

i haven't seen that smile in 4 years 

and damn did i miss it

but why did he not remember me? 

all the things he did to me?

all the things we went through with me?

i give him a small nervous smile while setting his food on his table

"thanks" he says smiling more at me

"your welcome, a-and i am sorry for acting the way i did, i-it was rude of me"

i tell him nervously

"hey" he says putting his hand on my shoulder

"don't apologize, i get it, it's your first day, don't be so hard on yourself"

i smile at him and nervously tell him "t-thank you...dean" 

he smiles at me again and we look into eachothers eyes for a little while

it wasn't awkward like it would be with other people

it was...nice

neither of us wanted to look away

until i blushed slightly nodding my head at him and walking away 

after he left for the night he came up to the counter

i was cleaning the counter while jo was in the back doing dishes

"hey, this for your first day" he tells me winking at me 

giving me a dollar bill

i smile a little until i turn the dollar around and see a number on the other side 

i feel my face turn as red as a tomato 

and i hear dean chuckle 

"I don't mean to be so forward, but there's just something about you that interests me" he tells me

i nod my head at him trying to contain my smile that was creeping unto my face

he winks at me again and walks out of the shop

i hear the familiar ring of the door 

and smile from the inside out

but my smile quickly fades when i think

'he doesn't remember you

but he will

and when he does 

hes going to remember what you did

hes going to remember how much he hates you

hes going to hurt you again

or worse

he will kill me

no he wouldn't do that...

would he?

i can't go out on a date with him

i just can't 

but i REALLY want to...

what do i do?
