Chresanto:

"I'm sorry but we can't sell the company to you." She said frowning at me. My brows furrowed as I stared at her for a silent moment. I let out a stiffened chuckle and crossed my arms over my chest.

"Why?" Was all I managed to utter.

"Because, we don't think you'll have our customers best interests at mind." Sally spoke as she stood up from her seat across from me. I didn't know what to say. What does she mean I don't have the customers best interest at mind. Does she know who I am? Does she know how much money this deal will make for me?

I'm Chresanto August. 23 years old and running the business world. I started my own company at the age of 19. I am CEO of Platinum Express Inc. We have our own computers, tablets and softwares. We're like apple and Windows; but better. Much better. Yet, I've been interested in other companies lately. I've bought chunks of a few other companies. I own a bit of Nike, and some of Google. This makes me more money of course.

Yet, I am sitting here with the CEO of eHarmony who is ready to sell me the company altogether. They would make me so much money, enough that I'd be able to build a whole other company. I am serious about my work, and when I want something...I get it. I want eHarmony. She thinks I can't run it?

"Explain." I spoke with a shoddy tone to it.

"Well, when I started eHarmony I wanted to bring people together to fall in love like I did. Not just to make money. I don't want to put the company in the hands of someone that doesn't feel the same way. I need someone who has that passion." Sally finished placing her hands on the top of the chair she was just seated in.

"So, you're saying I can't relate to the people needing eHarmony?" I scowled narrowing my eyes at her. Yet, my glare didn't phase her in anyway.

"Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying Mr. August. Someone who hasn't experienced love cannot run my company." She explained.

"How do you know I've never been in love?" I questioned raising an eyebrow at her.

Even though I haven't. I think love is a waste of time. I have money to make, I don't have time of a woman in my life. In school I was too busy to have a girlfriend. In Between school work, football, debate team and my part time job; a girl would have gotten in the way. I was in college when I started my company. I finished quickly and now have a degree in Business. I am always working and having many things on my mind. What do I need a woman for? Don't get me wrong, I love women and sex. Yet, I don't like 'love. I have women around me all the time but It's never to talk. If you know what I mean.

Call me a "player" or whatever word you have conquered up to explain it. I simply sleep with women. I don't even play them on purpose. No, I let them now from the start; I am not looking for a relationship. I just want one thing. Don't start having feelings for me. It never works that easily for me.

"I know how you are Mr. August. Everyone does. You can't stay with a woman to save your life, let alone fall in love with one." She hissed spitting in the process. That's when I started to get angry. Who is she to tell me how I am? Yes, I know the way I handle things; but for her to bring it up in such a way?

That's unprofessional. That's when I opened my mouth and said something I know I'm going to regret.

"I'll let you know Sally that I have a fiance that I am very much in love with."

The room fell silent. She stared at me intently and popped her lips, seeming to see right through my lie.

"Really?" She asked stepping closer towards me.

"Yes," I answered. What am I doing? I don't have a fiance!

"What's her name?" She snapped at me.

"I can't tell you her name." I said coolly looking up at her with a small smile.

"And why is that?" Sally asked pushing her long brown hair behind her shoulders. She pushed her glasses up higher on the bridge of her nose. Her white pasty skin seemed a bit orange, as if she was tanning. I was just now noticing these details about her. Only a few seconds had passed since and I had an answer already.

"I would have to ask her. You see, we have been keeping our relationship very private. She doesn't want the attention that comes with being with me. Yet, she said that I would be able to announce it once we've been engaged for 5 months, which is 4 days from now." I lied smoothly.

"You, Chresanto August, have a fiance?" The doubt in Sally's voice wasn't hard to miss. I nodded my head as I slowly started to rotating side to side in my office chair.

She pressed her lips into a flat line before sighing and looking away from me.

"If this is true, I would like to meet her." Sally sneered.

"Of cour-" She interrupted me quickly holding one finger up till me to wait.

"Just meeting her isn't going to convince me. You'll need to prove it to me. I'm not stupid Mr. August." She murmured, "And If I find out this is all a hoax, I'll make sure everyone is aware of it."

With that said, she whipped around and stormed out my office. I groaned and threw my head back.

What have I gotten myself into?
