This is for Ella_Cinder, one of my IRL best friends. Go follow her. Like, now. I can wait.

This is oblivious James being oblivious and well, the Jily is strong with this one. And the Wolfstar, that's a given though.

"Thanks for letting us stay for a bit, Evans, you know, while we get the new place sorted out."

Lily flipped her book shut, smiling. She rested it on her pregnant belly and replied,

"That's totally fine, Remus. You and Sirius are always welcome, you're practically family now that you're Godfathers and all!"

Remus and Sirius settled down on the couch opposite Lily.

"So," Sirius said as he leaned forwards conspiratorially, "How's the little sprog doing? As feisty as his mother?"

Lily laughed, brushing her bright hair out of her eyes and propping her feet up on the coffee table,

"You could say that, Pads, he does like to kick!"

Remus smiled warmly and put an arm around Sirius' shoulders, which Sirius leaned into

"Aw, you guys, too cute!"

"Shut up, Evans."

Lily carried on unabashed, a twinkle in her eyes,

"Soo... When are you two tying the knot?"

Remus almost choked on his tea.

"Evans!" Sirius mock-admonished, "Don't break my poor fragile Moony! He's a delicate flower and flusters easily - I should know!" He finished with a wicked grin. He and Lily both roared with laughter as Remus set down his cup and swatted softly at Sirius, face red.

Her laughter subsiding, Lily smiled nostalgically and asked,

"Do you boys ever miss Hogwarts?"

Something passed over the two, a warm light of nostalgia. It twinkled in Remus' eyes and lingered in Sirius lopsided smile.

"Every day, Evans, every day."

"Yeah..."

"Me too."

Remus placed a gentle hand on Sirius' knee,

"It was the place where we all met the loves of our lives."

"Even though I didn't know it 'till Seventh Year," said Lily, "That's completely true."

She smiled fondly down at her belly as Sirius pressed a soft kiss to Remus' cheekbone, lacing their hands together.

The rest of the evening carried on much the same, idle chat until late at night when the three began to drift to sleep on the sofas, in the flickering amber light of the fire.

At around eleven, James made his way down the stairs to find his wife. He saw her in the armchair by the fire, as curled up as her swollen belly allowed her to be. He made his way quietly over to her, leaning down and pressing a kiss to her forehead.

She stirred gently and her eyes opened. She rubbed her eyes and gave a soft yawn.

"Hey..."

"Hey, are you coming upstairs? It's pretty late."

She brought her hands away from her eyes.

"I guess," she shifted around until she could stand, "Better wake those two and send them up as well."

Following Lily's line of vision, he saw Remus and Sirius curled up together on the couch. They were, um, pretty close together. Huh. Remus was curled into Sirius, their legs tangled together. Sirius... Well, Sirius had his hand up the back of Remus' shirt. Was this normal behaviour for them?

Lily made her way over to them and gently shook their shoulders.

"Get up, lovebirds."

Then it clicked. Dang. How had he not noticed this?

As they sat up, James sidled up to his wife.

"How long have they been dating?"

Lily turned around and looked at him as though looking at some strange kind of alien.

"How long - ? James. Really?"

"A long time then?"

"And you're just realising this now?"

James scrubbed his hand sheepishly through his perpetually messy hair.

A sleepy voice startled them. Padfoot.

"He may have Lily's temper, but I hope to God he has her brains too."

A dry laugh, Moony.

"Pity the child if he gets James attention to detail. We've never exactly been subtle, Prongs."

You could literally hear the cogs working in James' brain.

"Merlin's pants. What's wrong with me?"

Lily clapped a hand to his shoulder.

"No one knows, James. No one knows. Now, are you coming to bed or not?"
