"Um..." She finally stood up, but she didn't raise her head. Her eyes remained on his feet. How... Oddly cute.

"What's your name?" He demanded. The girl's shoulders tensed, and he felt slightly guilty. Slightly. With such a shy girl he should be more careful, as his brother would say. Even if he was an incompetent fool, he was smart with the ladies.

"Hinata..." She mumbled, barely loud enough for him to hear. His eyebrow twitched. She was so meek!

"Talk louder! Do you expect everyone to have super hearing?" He growled, glaring at the girl. Her head shot up, her body going tense. She was so fragile! So easily frightened...! She was like a bunny, or a mouse. It was cute, and annoying at the same time.

The world had no room for the weak.

"I'm sorry!" She wrung her hands together, her pale flesh going red. Gaara growled and grabbed her wrist, yanking it up. She had no reason to hurt herself, so why did she? The idiot.

"Let go of her, now." Gaara's eyes narrowed dangerously. He knew that voice all too well. It was his dreaded cousin.

"Sasori." Gaara turned to face his cousin, pushing the girl behind him so he was in-between Hinata and Sasori. Whatever interest Sasori seen in the girl, he would not let him have her. He didn't care if he started a gang war between Konaha and Akatsuki, it was nothing new.

"Gaara," Sasori's grey eyes were heated with rage, you could practically see the dark coils radiating off him. The girl behind him quivered, her shoulders turtled and skin going pale. She was so fragile. It made him so angry! "Give me Hinata!" With a swiftness that could only be Sasori's, he pulled his gun from his holder and had it aimed at him. Gaara stiffened. Sasori was willing to start a fight right on the school grounds? This was unheard of. Out of all the Akatsuki, Sasori was probably one of the calmest, and most collected. He tended to thin things through, and get his revenge tenfold. There was no way he would do such a rash thing.

"Sasori-san..!" The girl stepped out from behind him and stood blocking the gun. He stared at her back, not understanding a thing that was going on. Hinata knew his cousins name? What was he to her? Were they close? And why... Was she blocking a gun for him? He barely knew her.

"Hinata, move." Sasori growled, obviously not pleased that Hinata was now in the way. Gaara was even more confused. Never before did the Akatsuki care if bystanders got in the way of their battles. But now it looked as if Sasori was going to refuse to shoot, perhaps he was even going to back down.

Who was this little girl?

"Sasori." The girl's voice got serious, all the previous shyness going out of it. She sounded like a woman, her velvety voice making him blink. Deep inside him, he felt a small spark light. "Leave him alone." She strode forward, and Gaara couldn't help but let his eyes trail down her body. She was slim, not overly skinny like Ino. She didn't waddle like a duck when she walked like Sakura, she walked with precision. Did she always walk like that? Like a hunter... Sasori's eyes were on her as well, his gun still pointed toward him. But both males could care less. They were too busy watching the girl.

Gaara's lips tugged up on one side. A hunter hiding as a prey... A bunny who was really a tiger. The girl was no longer meek as she stood in-front of his cousin, instead she looked almost like Neji, strong and noble.

"Sasori." The girl grabbed Sasori's gun, and to his surprise he let her take it. Sasori was usually very territorial over his things. "Where are..." Her voice became the cute shy one again. Wait... Cute? He did not just refer to someone as cute! "The others..." She said timidly, her head dropping to look at the ground. Where did the hunter he saw just moments before go? Now she was back to being prey as she fiddled with the gun in her hands.

"The Akatsuki," Sasori shot a look over her shoulder to him, his grey eyes yelling 'mine'. Did he really think he could stake a claim on her so easily? No, he was going to have this girl. She will be a hunter with him. "Are all looking for you, Hinata." Gaara's lip twitched. So she was close with them all? He didn't like it. He wanted her. The Akatsuki would not have her, she was his.

Naruto already showed an interest in her. She will be Konaha's. A small dark smile curled his lips. And she will be his.

"Oh..!" Hey eyes widened behind her bangs, her mouth going dry. They were looking for her? She didn't want to cause them any hassle... "I'm sorry, Sasori-san... Can..." She blushed lightly. "Can we go see them?" She shifted on her feet awkwardly, almost forgetting the heavy piece of metal in her hands.

Sasori's gun.

Hinata knew they had weapons. All of them did. They seemed to enjoy hand to hand combat more though, and used their weapons scarcely. For instance: one day Konan came back with a whole bunch of scratches, bruises, and a broken nose. They were talking in hushed voices about a girl named 'Sakura' before the door closed and she could hear no more.

It was a matter of fact it was serious when they used their weapons.

So the fact Sasori pulled out his gun now made her nervous. What did the red haired male do? He was frightening, but not enough for Sasori to pull out his weapon.

She awkwardly held it out to Sasori, who took it and put it back into the holder. He put his hand on her shoulder, and led her away. She looked back at the other red head, only for a cold shiver to go down her spine. He wore a look of pure hunger, like a beast. She stepped closer to Sasori, who gladly put his arm around her.
